Emerson-Hubbard winless in last five matches

The Emerson-Hubbard Volleyball Team went 0-2 at both the Pender and their home Triangulars last Thursday night and Tuesday night, respectively, losing 2-0 to the host Pendragons and Neligh-Oakdale, and 2-0 to Walthill and Wynot, before falling 3-0 at home this past Thursday night.

The Pirates lost 25-11 in set one to the Pendragons, and dropped set two 25-8.

Brynn Shock and Madison Gunderson notched 7 digs apiece.

The Warriors topped Emerson-Hubbard 25-5 in the opening set, and 25-18 in the second set.

Gunderson and Addison Mackling registered 8 digs each.

The Blujays won set one 25-19 and set two 25-23.

Mackling finished with 11 digs while Taylor Daum had 10. Stephanie Ferrusca added 8 digs and 8 set assists.

The Blue Devils won set one 25-13 in set one, and 25-5 in set two.

Mackling recorded 14 digs while Daum and Gunderson chipped in 9 each. Ferrusca compiled 8.

The Knights took the first set 25-11, the second set 25-12, and the third set 25-15.

Gunderson had 16 digs while Daum totaled 15. Mackling notched 14 while Shock had 13. Ferrusca tallied 11 digs and 7 set assists.

The Pirates continue to struggle big time.

Emerson-Hubbard (1-17) hosts Wakefield-Allen (8-11) Tuesday night.

The Trojans lost 3-1 at home to Ponca this past Tuesday night.

Wakefield-Allen has started to play better Volleyball as of late as they've won 5 out of their last 7.

The Pirates desperately need to pick things up, especially offensively.

Emerson-Hubbard played so well in the season opener, but has slipped ever since.

The Pirates have to remain positive and upbeat though, and must keep on fighting.

Emerson-Hubbard has been solid and stout defensively, so I think digging is something the Pirates can take pride in.

Emerson-Hubbard just has to hit the ball efficiently Tuesday night, and pass, block, serve, and serve receive at a high level as well.

The Pirates need to start playing better than they have been, and hold themselves more accountable.

Emerson-Hubbard is kind of young and low on numbers, but has to be better than they have been.

The Pirates have to pick up their play and raise the intensity level up a few notches.

This is a tough match seeing as Wakefield-Allen is C-1 and Emerson-Hubbard D-2, but the Pirates must play the hand they are dealt.

I feel this match will be a good test and challenge for Emerson-Hubbard if anything.

The rest of the schedule appears to be pretty challenging for the Pirates as well so there aren't going to be many if any breaks in the schedule the rest of the way.

Emerson-Hubbard has to be better throughout the rest of the season than they have been for much of it so far.

The Pirates need to start off by making sets closer than they have been lately, and could really benefit from just taking a set.

Emerson-Hubbard has been swept in every match except two in the first two nights of the season, and that has to change.

The Pirates have a lot of work to do, and need to chip away against the Trojans so to speak.
