Logan View/Scribner-Snyder goes 1-3 at East Husker Conference Tournament
The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Volleyball Team finished 1-3 at the East Husker Conference Tournament last week, beating Oakland-Craig 2-1, but losing 2-0 to Clarkson/Leigh at Clarkson/Leigh on Thursday before falling 2-0 to Wisner-Pilger and 2-1 to Howells-Dodge at North Bend Central on Saturday.
The Knights won set one 25-8 before the Raiders took set two 25-20 and set three 30-28.
Shaylin Daugherty had 8 kills while Ashley Uhing and Emily Klein registered 15 digs apiece. Taylor Ruwe added 14 digs while Reagan Klein had 14 digs and 17 set assists. Kaylin Niewohner chipped in 11 digs while Tyler Christianson had 10.
LVSS lost 25-18 in set one and 25-13 in set two to the Patriots.
Uhing chipped in 7 digs while Klein notched 9 set assists.
The Raiders lost 25-9 in set one and 25-16 in set two to the Gators.
Klein tallied 11 set assists.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder earned a 25-16 win in the first set over the Jaguars before losing 25-20 in the second set, and the third set 25-22.
Daugherty had 8 kills while Lewin notched 7. Uhing added 11 digs while Ruwe posted 7. Klein added 26 set assists.
The Raiders kind of hit a lull and a bit of a slump following the win over the Knights.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (13-13) takes on Wisner-Pilger and Fort Calhoun at the Wisner-Pilger Triangular Thursday night.
The Raiders just lost to Wisner-Pilger and beat Fort Calhoun 2-1 at the Fort Calhoun Invitational on Saturday, September 1st.
I look for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder to bounce back and play well Thursday night.
The Raiders have Tuesday night off while the Pioneers and Gators are both in action so I fully expect LVSS to be refreshed, well rested, and ready to go.
I look for the Raiders to beat Fort Calhoun and play Wisner-Pilger tougher than they did the first time around.
It figures to be tough for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder to beat the Gators on their home floor, but anything can certainly happen.
The Raiders have to come out and play well and strong Volleyball from the get go.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder has to do something about their recent struggles.
The Raiders are just 2-7 in their last 9 matches, and could use things to go their way Thursday night.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder has some key matches coming up, and needs to win if they want to hang on and be the No. 1 seed in Sub-Districts.
The Raiders, West Point-Beemer, and North Bend Central are pretty close in power points so the No. 1 seed appears to be up for grabs right now.
I don't know if seeding really matters in the Sub-District as it's wide open, but I think it would be a tremendous accomplishment for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder to get the top seed.
The Raiders just have to focus on playing good Volleyball Thursday night though and getting back to doing the things they were in the first half of the season.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder has to come out and be aggressive and hit the ball with authority.
The Raiders have to come out with a fire and passion that is second to none.
LVSS has to come out and take the bull by the horns and let er rip.
The Raiders have to start playing like it's the postseason because pretty soon it is going to be.
Sub-Districts will be here in a couple of weeks, and LVSS has to be ready to go by that time.
