Logan View/Scribner-Snyder falls at BRLD in five
The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Volleyball Team was outlasted by BRLD in five sets Tuesday night, losing to the Wolverines in Lyons in action heard on 107.9 the Bull.
The Wolverines claimed the first two sets 25-21 and 25-20 before dropping set three 26-24 and set four 25-23, but rebounding to win set five 15-11.
Shaylin Daugherty led the way with 14 kills while Emily Lewin posted 13 kills and 14 digs. Dream Daugherty added 10 kills and 10 digs. Ashley Uhing had 13 digs while Reagan Klein totaled 13 digs and 40 set assists. Tyler Christianson added 12 digs while Taylor Ruwe notched 9.
Tough loss and hard pill to swallow for the Raiders no doubt.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (12-8) takes on Oakland-Craig (8-14) and Fremont Bergan at the Fremont Bergan Triangular Tuesday night.
Oakland-Craig won 3-1 at Pender Thursday night.
The Raiders also drew Oakland-Craig for the East Husker Conference Tournament so both matches against them figure to be tough.
Oakland-Craig appears to be peaking at the right time, and Bergan is as tough as nails.
Bergan should be able to win State in Class D-1 hands down.
So LVSS is facing some great competition, but I look for the Raiders to bounce back from Tuesday night's setback.
Both teams are tough and have good players.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder is going to need to try and slow down Oakland-Craig's Bailey Helzer and Natalia McNeill.
Haley Kempf looks like a player for Bergan to try and slow down.
So the Raiders have their work cut out at the net trying to block kills and things of that nature.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder has good height with Shaylin Daugherty and others though so I look for the Raiders to be strong at the net.
LVSS has kind of sputtered over the past couple of weeks, but I fully expect the Raiders to get back to form for the East Husker Conference Tournament.
I think Logan View/Scribner-Snyder will play well Tuesday night, and potentially make a run in the Conference Tournament.
It's going to be tough playing Oakland-Craig back-to-back, but I think the Raiders will be up for the challenge.
Tuesday night's loss to BRLD had to hurt and be tough, and I'm sure Logan View/Scribner-Snyder is anxious to get back out there.
I look for the Raiders to be chomping at the bit to play on Tuesday. I'm not so sure having a week off really benefits LVSS, but I think one thing is for sure....the Raiders will be ready to play.
