Emerson-Hubbard swept by Wakefield-Allen

The Emerson-Hubbard Volleyball Team lost 3-0 at home to Wakefield-Allen Tuesday night.

The Pirates dropped set one 25-15, set two 25-18, and set three 25-17.

I thought Emerson-Hubbard did a good job competing hard in each set, but the result was not what they wanted I'm sure.

The Pirates (1-18) take part in the Hartington/Newcastle Invite on Saturday.

This tournament figures to have some tough teams in it, yet opponents Emerson-Hubbard can compete with and beat.

The Pirates played Wausa and Wynot in the tournament last year, and those two teams are in the tournament again this year.

Emerson-Hubbard is reeling right now, but perhaps the Pirates will get back on track this weekend.

I thought the Pirates did a nice job keeping things close and competitive against the Trojans, and so perhaps Emerson-Hubbard can do that again this weekend, and then take that next step and win a set and eventually more matches.

The Pirates have a challenging slate the rest of the way so Emerson-Hubbard has to do their best to battle through it and keep fighting.

When the going gets tough, the Pirates have to get going, and the going has certainly been tough for Emerson-Hubbard much of this season.

The Pirates have to find a way to perform at a higher level than they have for much of this season.

Emerson-Hubbard has to go out there and have fun, but be serious as well.

The Pirates have to execute the fundamentals of the game, and hit, pass, block, serve, and serve receive well.

Emerson-Hubbard has to make every opponent earn their points, and not give away free points off of unforced errors.

The Pirates have to take the fight to the competition this weekend, and go out there and have a good tournament showing.

Perhaps with it being a tournament on a Saturday Emerson-Hubbard will perform well.

This is the Pirates' first tournament of the year so perhaps with a smaller crowd and not as much noise Emerson-Hubbard will find themselves and perform well.

The Pirates desperately need some sort of spark to take place in the coming matches or it could end up being a lost season.

Emerson-Hubbard has to keep fighting the good fight, and must keep at it no matter how difficult the circumstances get and become.
