North Bend Central loses at Malcolm

The North Bend Central Volleyball Team lost 3-1 at Malcolm Thursday night.

The Tigers won the opening set 25-18 before the Clippers took the second set 25-11, the third set 25-21, and the fourth set 25-18.

You never want or like to lose a match, but I thought North Bend Central competed well and at a high level despite the loss.

North Bend Central (6-10) takes on Tekamah-Herman on the road Thursday night.

Tekamah-Herman has really struggled this year, and this should be a win for North Bend Central.

I feel wins over Tekamah-Herman and BRLD next week would help North Bend Central get ready for the East Husker Conference Tournament, and improve their seeding.

North Bend Central could really benefit from some great play in the latter part of the regular season given their tough schedule.

I feel NBC has started to pick things up and play respectable Volleyball, but there is still work to be done.

North Bend Central has to get things restarted off the right way Thursday night with a win.

It's absolutely critical for North Bend Central to play well on Thursday and next Tuesday in order to get their ducks in a row for the Conference Tournament and stretch run before the postseason.

North Bend Central has to work out any final kinks they might have and get things resolved.

NBC will need to play at a very high level after next Tuesday night if they hope to knock off some good teams in the Conference Tournament and after.

North Bend Central is definitely capable of getting things done and making a run though.

NBC just has to play at a high level Thursday night and carry over hot play into next Tuesday night and beyond.

North Bend Central has to do a complete 360 between now and the Conference Tournament to get this thing back on track.

I feel NBC has done some nice things this year, but has had a tough schedule and went through a rough stretch at the start of the season.

I look for North Bend Central to turn those tough losses early on in the season to wins late in the season, or at least closer and more competitive matches.

This team has had a lot of success in recent past, and I'm sure NBC would love to go on a run and make another charge at the State Tournament.

If North Bend Central can get hot here at the end of the regular season they could find themselves in a good position to win their Sub-District and at least make a Sub-State match.

And who knows, with the right matchup in sub-state the North Bend Central Tigers could be headed to state for a 3rd straight season.

Lots of work to be done to make that happen though.
