BRLD swept at North Bend Central

The BRLD Volleyball Team was swept 3-0 at North Bend Central Tuesday night.

The Tigers won sets one and two 25-18 and set three 25-20.

Tough loss for the Wolverines. Not the kind of result they were expecting I'm sure.

BRLD (9-13) takes on Wisner-Pilger (14-9) in the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament at Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family Thursday night.

The Gators swept Tekamah-Herman 3-0 on the road Tuesday night.

Wisner-Pilger has beaten BRLD 2-0 on two separate occasions this season.

Both teams have kind of been Helter Skelter in that you don't know what you're going to get or expect from either team.

When both teams are on they are on, but when they are off they are off.

Either way the Wolverines have to come out and play ball and perform at a high level.

This tournament is anyone's ball game, and BRLD has to shake off Tuesday night's loss and focus on the Gators.

Not exactly the way the Wolverines hoped to enter this tournament, but all BRLD can do now is put the North Bend Central loss behind them and move on.

The Wolverines have to try and slow down Jordan Wegner, among others.

She is Wisner-Pilger's best offensive weapon by far.

The Gators as a 7 seed area a tough draw as I feel they're better than a couple of teams ahead of them, or at least playing better than them right now.

BRLD is a good team too though, and has to come out and show and prove it.

The loser of this match receives a Bye while the winner faces Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family, and I'm sure the Wolverines would love another crack at the Bulldogs.

If you lose you only play two matches instead of three in the tournament, and I think a loss to Wisner-Pilger would be discouraging for the Wolverines.

BRLD definitely has their work cut out for them in this match, but they can definitely win.

The Wolverines just have to go out there and play their best game, and hope the Gators have an off match.

A win would be a big deal for BRLD, and they have to do their best to make it happen.

First serve is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family.
