Wisner-Pilger sweeps West Point-Beemer
The Wisner-Pilger Gators swept West Point-Beemer at home last Tuesday, winning 3-0.
Wisner-Pilger won set one 26-24, set two 25-21, and set three 27-25.
Sydney Bradfield had a team-high 10 kills while Tessa Ruskamp added 9.
The Gators made the most of their lone match last week. The Cadets showed up and played tough, but Wisner-Pilger was up for the challenge.
The Gators (6-0) have a big match on Tuesday at North Bend Central (8-3).
The Tigers defeated Pender and Emerson-Hubbard 2-0 last Tuesday at the Emerson-Hubbard Triangular before downing Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family 3-0 at home on Thursday. North Bend Central beat Logan View and Raymond Central 2-0 on Saturday at the North Bend Invite before losing 2-0 to Columbus Scotus, also on Saturday.
North Bend Central is going to be tough, especially with the match on their home floor.
These two teams met once already with the Gators getting the better of the Tigers 2-1 on September 5th in the Northeast Nebraska Tournament.
It's going to take an awfully good game from Wisner-Pilger for the Gators to get the job done again, but they can definitely do it.
I wouldn't doubt if this match went five sets. I think sets could go long, and be decided by extra points.
These two teams will no doubt get after each other, which should make for an exciting match.
I believe Wisner-Pilger is for real win or lose on Tuesday, but a win would be absolutely huge for this program.
It's the only match the Gators have this week so it would be nice to head into next week still undefeated as opposed to having one loss.
We will find out if Wisner-Pilger can stay hot by how they play on Tuesday.
