West Point-Beemer loses to Wisner-Pilger, beats Twin River
The West Point-Beemer Cadets went 1-1 last week, losing 3-0 at Wisner-Pilger last Tuesday before beating Twin River 3-0 at home on Thursday.
West Point-Beemer lost 26-24 in set one to the Gators, dropped set two 25-21, and lost set three 27-25.
Amanda Hansen had 13 kills for the Cadets.
West Point-Beemer really battled hard against Wisner-Pilger. The Cadets came ready to play, and played the Gators tough in every set.
I feel like the loss translated into the win over the Titans.
West Point-Beemer took set one from Twin River 25-19, set two 25-19, and set three 25-22.
The Cadets played a complete match against the Titans and put together their best performance of the season, in my opinion.
West Point-Beemer (2-1) hosts Tekamah-Herman (6-2) on Tuesday.
The Tigers beat Twin River and Logan View 2-0 at the Logan View Triangular last Tuesday before going 1-2 at the Boone Central/Newman Grove Invitational on Saturday. Tekamah-Herman beat O'Neill 2-0, but lost 2-0 to Columbus Lakeview and 2-1 to Boone Central/Newman Grove.
The Tigers are a good team, but given their struggles on Saturday I wouldn't be surprised if the Cadets beat them.
West Point-Beemer will no doubt be the fresher team, and will be ready to go you would think.
It appears the Cadets are catching Tekamah-Herman at a good time.
West Point-Beemer has to make the most of their opportunities on Tuesday. The Cadets have to be rock solid in every set just like they were last week.
West Point-Beemer made a lot of strides from the first match of the season to last week, and I look for the Cadets to be even more improved this week.
It's going to to be an interesting match, that's for sure. It's hard telling how it's going to go for sure though.
A win would be a good tone setter for the rest of the week, and would give West Point-Beemer momentum heading into the Madison match on Thursday.
The Cadets have the Stanton Invitational on Saturday.
