Oakland-Craig downs Bancroft-Rosalie and Scribner-Snyder

The Oakland-Craig Knights played very good volleyball last week, downing Bancroft-Rosalie and Scribner-Snyder 2-0 at the Scribner-Snyder Triangular on Thursday.

Oakland-Craig defeated the Panthers 25-13 in set one and 25-9 in set two.

The Knights downed the Trojans 25-10 in sets one and two.

Oakland-Craig hasn't played the toughest schedule, but the Knights have shown they are a team to be reckoned with.

Oakland-Craig is a tough team who has played well in the early season, and will look to continue their winning ways this week.

The Knights (6-1) battle Lyons-Decatur Northeast (2-5) and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family (1-4) at the Lyons-Decatur Northeast Triangular on Tuesday.

The Cougars went 2-4 last week, knocking off Clarkson/Leigh in five sets on the road Tuesday, losing 2-1 to Stanton and 2-0 to Pierce at the Wakefield Tournament on Thursday, and losing 2-0 twice to Hartington Cedar Catholic on Saturday at the Wakefield Tournament before downing Laurel-Concord-Coleridge 2-0 on the same day.

Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family lost 3-0 to Guardian Angels Central Catholic and North Bend Central on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively, before losing 2-1 to Meridian and 2-0 to Exeter-Milligan at the Friend Invitational on Saturday. Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family knocked off Kenesaw 2-0, also at the Friend Invitational.

Oakland-Craig figures to get challenged by both teams on Tuesday. Neither team will be easy for the Knights to beat so Oakland-Craig has to be on top of their game.

I think the Knights have a good chance to pick up two wins, but they have to come ready to play, and must execute well.

Oakland-Craig has to keep their foot on the gas pedal. The Knights can't be complacent or satisfied with their start so far.

Oakland-Craig should be proud of their early season success, but has to realize there's a lot more volleyball to be played.

The Knights have to continue to do the things that have led to their early season success. Oakland-Craig has to remain hungry, and has to want more.

The Knights are nowhere near where they want to be right now, but Oakland-Craig is making a lot of strides in the right direction. This is a quality team.
