Pender loses to North Bend Central and Emerson-Hubbard

The Pender Pendragons fell twice last week, losing 2-0 to North Bend Central and Emerson-Hubbard last Tuesday at the Emerson-Hubbard Triangular.

Pender lost set one to the Pirates 25-10, and dropped set two 25-22.

The Pendragons dropped the first set against the Tigers, losing 25-15, and lost the second set 25-12.

Pender struggled against quality competition last week. The Pendragons played well for a set against Emerson-Hubbard, but just didn't have enough firepower to make things more competitive with the Pirates.

Pender (2-5) hosts Wakefield (3-9) on Thursday.

The Trojans lost 2-1 to Bancroft-Rosalie and 2-0 to Howells-Dodge at the Wakefield Triangular on Tuesday.

This is a match between two teams who could really use a win.

Wakefield has lost five in a row while the Pendragons have dropped their last two.

I look for this match to at least go four or five sets.

I think Pender will prevail with the match being on their home floor, but don't count out the Trojans.

The Pendragons most likely won't have the easiest time with Wakefield. The Trojans are capable of competing against just about anyone they play.

Wakefield was very competitive last night and has lost to some good teams.

Pender should be the fresher team as they haven't played in over a week, and that should be to the Pendragons' advantage.

My gut tells me this match is going five. I'll take Pender in five sets, but things could really go either way. It should be a very competitive match between two fairly equal teams.

Catch Thursday's action on 107.9 the Bull. Things are set to get underway at 7:15 p.m.

You'll want to tune in. This should be a fantastic match.
