Bancroft-Rosalie 4-3 in last seven matches
The Bancroft Rosalie Panthers played over .500 volleyball last week, going 4-3 in their seven matches.
Bancroft Rosalie beat Walthill 2-0 and Winside 2-1 on Tuesday at the Walthill Triangular.
The Panthers took set one over the Blujays, 25-19, and owned set two 25-8.
Against the Wildcats, Bancroft-Rosalie dropped set one 25-23, but bounced back to win set two 27-25 and set three 28-26.
I felt like the Winside win was a very good character building win for the Panthers. Bancroft-Rosalie found out a lot about themselves, and proved to themselves they can win tight, tough matches.
It didn't carry over to Thursday though as the Panthers fell 2-1 to Scribner-Snyder and 2-0 to Oakland-Craig at the Scribner-Snyder Triangular.
Bancroft-Rosalie took set one from the Trojans 25-19, but lost the next two 25-11 and 25-18.
The Panthers lost set one to the Knights 25-13, and dropped set two 25-9.
Bancroft-Rosalie participated in the Cedar Bluffs Invitational on Saturday, and went 2-1.
The Panthers downed Omaha Christian Academy and Humphrey St. Francis 2-0, but lost to Heartland 2-0.
Bancroft-Rosalie lost set one to the Huskies 25-17, and dropped set two 25-15.
The Panthers won the opening set against the Eagles 25-14, and took the second set 25-10.
Bancroft-Rosalie took set one from the Flyers 25-23, and won set two 25-19.
It appears the Panthers improved from Week 1 to Week 2, which is what you always want to see. Bancroft-Rosalie really stepped up their game after Thursday's setbacks, in my opinion, and found success on Saturday because of it.
The Panthers (6-6) host Emerson-Hubbard (5-1) on Monday.
The Pirates beat Osmond and Randolph 2-0 on Thursday, and Pender 2-0 on Tuesday. Their only loss is a 2-0 setback to C-1 North Bend Central on Tuesday.
Emerson-Hubbard appears to be pretty good this season, and has been consistent.
It's going to take outstanding play on the part of Bancroft-Rosalie to beat the Pirates.
As much as it appears the Panthers improved from Thursday to Saturday, Bancroft-Rosalie is going to have to play even better volleyball on Monday if they hope to knock off Emerson-Hubbard.
This is a big match for the Panthers though, and it's at home.
Bancroft-Rosalie has a chance to pull off a pretty significant upset, and keep their season heading in a positive direction.
For the Panthers it's about being consistent on hits, passes, serves, serve receives, digs, and blocks.
Bancroft-Rosalie has to play well in all facets of the game to knock off the Pirates.
The Panthers take on Wakefield and Howells-Dodge in the Wakefield Triangular on Tuesday so it's important for Bancroft-Rosalie to play well on Monday to keep heading in the right direction.
Monday's match will no doubt set the tone for Tuesday. The Panthers need to play well against Emerson-Hubbard so they can find success against the Trojans and Jaguars.
The match against the Pirates can be heard on 107.9 the Bull beginning at 7:45 p.m.
