Lyons-Decatur Northeast played up and down volleyball last week. The Cougars played very well at times, but struggled at others. Lyons-Decatur Northeast has to become more consistent if they want to win more.

The Cougars (2-5) take on Oakland-Craig (6-1) and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family (1-4) at the Lyons-Decatur Northeast Triangular on Tuesday.

The Knights defeated Scribner-Snyder and Bancroft-Rosalie 2-0 at the Scribner-Snyder Triangular on Thursday while Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family lost 3-0 to Guardian Angels Central Catholic and North Bend Central on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively, before losing 2-1 to Meridian and 2-0 to Exeter-Milligan at the Friend Invitational on Saturday. Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family knocked off Kenesaw 2-0, also at the Friend Invitational.

Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family is a better team than their record indicates. Don't let their record deceive you. They have played some quality teams.

This is a step up in competition for Lyons-Decatur Northeast. Both teams will be tough to beat.

The Cougars have played well against certain teams in higher classes than them, but have struggled against others.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast played West Point-Beemer, Clarkson-Leigh, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge and Stanton tough, but didn't play as well against Pierce and Hartington Cedar Catholic.

The Cougars have to be on top of their game to knock off both Oakland-Craig and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family on Tuesday.

It's going to take tremendous effort on the part of Lyons-Decatur Northeast, but anything can happen. The Cougars have to believe they can get the job done, and play their tails off during both matches.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast has to execute their game plan, and can't afford to commit silly, unforced errors.

The Cougars have the Tekamah-Herman tournament on Saturday so it's important for Lyons-Decatur Northeast to play well on Tuesday to build for that tournament.
