Bancroft-Rosalie off to 1-3 start
The Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers went 1-3 in the Northeast Nebraska Tournament last week, losing 2-0 to Wayne and Lutheran High Northeast on Thursday, falling 2-1 to Allen on Saturday, but beating Scribner-Snyder 2-1, also on Saturday.
The Panthers dropped set one to LHNE, 25-21, and lost set two 25-8.
Bancroft-Rosalie lost set one to Wayne, 25-14, and dropped set two 25-21.
Allen won set one of that match 25-18. The Panthers won set two 26-24, but dropped set three 25-11.
Bancroft-Rosalie took the first set from the Trojans 25-20. Scribner-Snyder took the second set 25-21, but the Panthers bounced back to win the third set 25-14.
Bancroft-Rosalie has gotten off to a bit of a rough start. I'm sure the Panthers feel they could be doing better right now, but it's a process...the Panthers have to keep improving to get where they want.
Bancroft-Rosalie (1-3) battles Winside (1-4) and Walthill (0-0) in the Walthill Triangular on Tuesday.
I think the Panthers have a good chance to pick up two wins.
Winside lost 2-0 to Elkhorn Valley, and beat Wausa 2-0 on Thursday.
They lost 2-0 to Randolph and Howells-Dodge on Saturday, and 2-1 to Hartington-Newcastle, also on Saturday.
Walthill hasn't played a match all year, but they were just 5-18 a year ago.
Two wins would certainly get Bancroft-Rosalie on the right track.
It's simply a matter of the Panthers becoming more consistent.
Bancroft-Rosalie has to keep their confidence up, and has to keep fighting no matter what.
The Panthers have a great chance to go 2-0 on Tuesday, setting the stage for their triangular with Oakland-Craig and Scribner-Snyder on Thursday, and the Cedar Bluffs Invitational on Saturday.
This is a big week for Bancroft-Rosalie. The Panthers have to step up their game, and play better than they did last week.
If Bancroft-Rosalie wins at least five matches this week I think it's a fairly big accomplishment.
We will see what happens this week and weekend.
