Wisner-Pilger 4-2 in last six matches

The Wisner-Pilger Volleyball team is 4-2 in their last six contests, topping Wakefield and BRLD 2-0 at the Northeast Nebraska Tournament last Thursday before losing 2-0 to North Bend Central and 2-1 to Fremont Bergan, but beating Wayne 2-0 at the tournament on Saturday. The Gators turned around and swept West Point-Beemer 3-0 at home this past Tuesday night.

The Gators downed the Trojans 25-13 in the first set and 25-20 in the second set.

Jordan Wegner totaled 10 kills while Maci Batenhorst added 8. Lauren Jacobsen dished out 15 set assists while Ariel Meyer had 9.

Wisner-Pilger beat BRLD 25-9 in set one, and 25-18 in set two.

Wegner led the way with 8 kills while Jacobsen and Meyer notched 10 and 8 set assists, respectively.

The Gators defeated the Blue Devils 25-13 in the first set, and 25-21 in the second set.

Wegner and Batenhorst posted 7 kills each while Batenhorst totaled 26 digs and Ashton Meyer recorded 13. Cassidy Dixon notched 9 while Jacobsen chipped in 8 digs and 16 set assists.

The Tigers downed Wisner-Pilger 25-19 in sets one and two.

Batenhorst paced the Gators with 7 kills and digs while Jacobsen dished out 12 set assists.

The Knights won set one over Wisner-Pilger, 25-18. The Gators grabbed set two 25-16 before losing set three 25-22.

Wisner-Pilger topped the Cadets 26-24 in set one, 25-21 in set two, and 25-13 in set three.

Batenhorst put down 13 kills and had 8 digs while Wegner registered 10 kills. Jacobsen and Ariel Meyer contributed 16 and 11 set assists, respectively.

The Gators have played pretty good Volleyball to this point. I'm sure Wisner-Pilger feels they should of beat Bergan, but things are going real well otherwise.

The Gators (5-2) take on North Bend Central (7-0) again on the road Tuesday night.

As seen up above, the Tigers downed Wisner-Pilger 2-0 at the Northeast Nebraska Tournament on Saturday.

The Gators definitely have their work cut out for them in this one, but the good news for Wisner-Pilger is they have the rest of this week and early next week to prepare for North Bend Central.

The Tigers have a tournament at home this weekend so perhaps the extra practice and rest time will benefit the Gators.

That could work the other way against Wisner-Pilger too though in that North Bend Central could be in better game shape.

We will see what happens, but I fully expect the Gators to compete better against the Tigers than they did the first time around.

The sets were relatively close in the first matchup between the two squads, but I think they will be even closer this time around.

I think Wisner-Pilger can at least take a set in this upcoming match. I don't know if the Gators will win, especially with the match being in North Bend, but anything is possible.

Wegner and Batenhorst have to keep doing what they've been doing for Wisner-Pilger as does Jacobsen and Ariel Meyer.

These four are no doubt the team leaders and have been the most consistent players on the team so they need to keep that up.

The Gators have to try and contend with and slow down the likes of Kristin Lux and Brooke Fredrickson.

Easier said than done though with both of those players going on to play College Volleyball.

Wisner-Pilger is at a disadvantage height wise and I feel both teams are about equal in terms of speed and quickness so that just means the Gators have to work that much harder, and outwork and outhustle the Tigers.

This is Wisner-Pilger's only match next week so they have to make the most of it and make it count.
