Scribner-Snyder off to impressive start

The Scribner-Snyder Volleyball Team is off to a strong start, topping Cedar Bluffs 2-1, and losing 2-1 to Howells-Dodge at the Scribner-Snyder Triangular Tuesday night before downing Oakland-Craig 3-1 at home Thursday night.

The Trojans took set one 25-23 from the Wildcats, and won set three 25-21 after dropping set two 25-17.

Kaylee Boyle totaled 11 kills and 11 digs.

Scribner-Snyder took set one from the Jaguars 25-17, but lost set two 25-12, and set three 25-11.

Boyle notched 12 kills and 9 digs while Emily Lewin registered 7 kills. Nicole Boyle posted 16 set assists,

The Trojans won set one over the Knights 25-21 before losing set two 25-22. Scribner-Snyder earned a 25-21 win in set three before grabbing set four 25-17.

Kaylee Boyle compiled 12 kills and 18 digs with Lewin putting down 7 kills and recording 10 digs. Nicole Boyle added 17 digs and 14 set assists. Sidney Fletcher and Kaylin Niewohner chipped in 14 and 12 digs, respectively.

The Trojans have been great so far this season, in my opinion. Scribner-Snyder has played good consistent volleyball in every match so far I would say.

The Trojans (2-1) take on Harvard (0-4) at the St. Edward Tournament on Saturday.

The Cardinals lost 3-0 at Palmer Thursday night.

Scribner-Snyder won this tournament last year.

I would say the Trojans are just as strong if not stronger this year than they were last year, and stand a good chance to win this tournament again.

Scribner-Snyder no doubt benefits from playing a tough schedule that includes teams in upper classes so the Trojans will no doubt be battle tested come Saturday.

Scribner-Snyder has played superb Volleyball up to this point in the season, and I look for the Trojans to be energized and ready to go on Saturday.

I think it will be a great day of Volleyball that sees Scribner-Snyder perhaps bring home some hardware.

Kaylee and Nicole Boyle, and Lewin have been great consistent performers for this team, and Fletcher and Niewohner both stepped up and had nice defensive matches against Oakland-Craig.

It's efforts like that that will put the Trojans over the top, and allow them to be successful all season long.

I know it's early in the season, but this young Scribner-Snyder team has been mighty impressive so far.

I look for the Trojans to continue their winning ways on Saturday, and have a good tournament for the second straight year.

I would be surprised if Scribner-Snyder didn't win this tournament. I really feel the Trojans are a good and legit team.

We'll see what happens on Saturday for sure, but I'm thinking it will be a good and successful day of Volleyball for Scribner-Snyder.

One thing is for sure...the Trojans need to enjoy this success and these good times because neither come every day.

Scribner-Snyder has to keep enjoying the ride and journey, and continue to get better.
