Winnebago 1-2 in last three matches

The Winnebago Volleyball team is 1-2 in their last three matches, downing Walthill 3-2 on the road Thursday night before losing 2-0 to Ponca and Allen at the Allen Triangular Tuesday night.

The Blujays took set one from the Indians 25-22 before Winnebago won set two 25-16. Walthill took set three 25-16, and the Indians earned a 25-16 set four win, and then won set five 17-15.

The Eagles topped Winnebago 25-9 in the first set, and 25-13 in the second set.

Ponca downed Winnebago 25-3 in set one, and 25-7 in set two.

Winnebago really struggled Tuesday night, but has to feel good about the win over the Blujays.

The Indians (1-6) host the Winnebago Tournament on Saturday.

Walthill and Santee are among the teams in this tournament so Winnebago should have a good chance to be successful.

The Indians have to regather themselves and get ready for this tournament given what happened Tuesday night.

All Winnebago can do now is move forward and forget about what happened in Tuesday's matches.

Saturday is a new day, and the Indians have to be ready and raring to go from the onset of the very first match.

Winnebago's confidence ought to be up given the fact they're playing teams they can beat.

It has been another tough year for the Indians, but Winnebago has to continue to grow and improve the best they can.

Losing matches the way the Indians lost on Tuesday is no fun, but Winnebago has to be dedicated and has to want to get better and learn from it.

The only way you get better  at something is by continuing to work hard at it so these girls have to keep working hard at the game of Volleyball, and hone their skills the best they can.

The Indians showed a lot of heart, determination, and resolve in their win over Walthill I would say. Now it's a matter of playing that way against some of the tougher teams on the schedule.

Winnebago won't necessarily be challenged this weekend, but I feel the Indians' confidence has a chance to grow.

Winnebago could really benefit from success and wins this weekend.

The Indians have matches with Omaha Nation and Emerson-Hubbard next week, and so if Winnebago can win at least a couple of matches this weekend, their confidence should grow and allow them to have a chance in both those matches next week.

That's not to say the Indians don't have a chance in those matches next week if they struggle this weekend, but I think Winnebago's chances of winning next week significantly increase if they experience success this weekend.

The Indians have to have a good rest of the week of practice, and be excited, energized, and motivated come Saturday.
