Scribner-Snyder goes 2-1 at St. Edward Tournament
The Scribner-Snyder Volleyball team went 2-1 at the St. Edward Tournament on Saturday, beating Harvard and the host Beavers 2-0, but losing 2-0 to McCool Junction.
The Trojans downed the Cardinals 25-18 in set one, and 25-17 in set two.
Kaylee Boyle totaled 7 kills and 7 digs while Kaylin Niewohner and Emily Lewin notched 9 and 8 digs, respectively. Nicole Boyle dished out 10 set assists.
The Mustangs defeated Scribner-Snyder 25-15 in the first set, and 25-22 in the second set.
The Trojans took down the Beavers 25-14 in set one, and 25-7 in set two.
Kaylee Boyle notched 7 kills and 7 digs while Nicole Boyle dished out 9 set assists.
Scribner-Snyder played pretty good Volleyball in this tournament although I thought the Trojans would win the tournament again.
Scribner-Snyder (4-2) hosts Clarkson/Leigh (2-1) Tuesday night.
The Patriots downed BRLD 3-1 at home this past Tuesday night.
Clarkson/Leigh is a very tough team with a very talented junior class so the Trojans have to be ready for everything the Patriots throw at them.
Scribner-Snyder has to be wary of Hannah Kasik. She had 23 kills against the Wolverines.
Both Kaylee and Nicole Boyle, Lewin, and Niewohner need to have really good matches for the Trojans.
I don't know if Scribner-Snyder has as much talent as Clarkson/Leigh, but the Trojans appear to be a very hard working, scrappy ball club.
I fully expect Scribner-Snyder to give the Patriots a fight and run for their money, and make things interesting.
Clarkson/Leigh may prevail, but if they do it won't be without a great match played by the Trojans, in my opinion.
This is Scribner-Snyder's lone match of the week so the Trojans have to settle in and play an outstanding match.
Scribner-Snyder has a big week next week so I would say the Trojans need to play well to give themselves some momentum heading into all of those matches.
I look for Scribner-Snyder to give the Patriots all they can handle and then some. This Trojan team has proven they can hang with good teams, and I wouldn't be surprised to see this match go 4 or 5 sets.
I don't know if Scribner-Snyder will win this time around being Clarkson/Leigh is so well rested, but the Trojans could win seeing as they are in better game shape.
I don't know if playing a tournament this past weekend really has an effect on Scribner-Snyder in this match. It really could work for or against the Trojans in my mind.
The Patriots have had a lot of time to prepare for Scribner-Snyder whereas the Trojans have only had a day or two so that could play a factor into this match as well.
Big things for Scribner-Snyder are to not beat themselves, and grow and improve as a team in this match.
I think if the Trojans can do that they possibly be happy win or lose.
