Amid injuries, the Oakland-Craig Volleyball team has continued to struggle, losing 3-0 at home to North Bend Central Tuesday night, and 2-0 to GACC and Arlington at the GACC Triangular Thursday night.
The Tigers won set one 25-11, set two 25-14, and set three 25-10.
The Eagles took the first set 25-14, and the second set 25-11.
GACC earned a 25-16 set one win, and grabbed set two 25-11.
Injuries and youth have definitely taken their toll on the Knights.
Oakland-Craig (1-10) takes part in the Scribner-Snyder Invite on Saturday.
First up for the Knights is Elkhorn Valley (6-5).
The Falcons aren't too bad of a team, and figure to present Oakland-Craig a challenge.
I look at this Invite as an opportunity for the Knights to get their season back on track though.
Things could either go really well or really poorly for Oakland-Craig...it just depends on how well they play.
The Knights have been banged up this season, and have really struggled, but perhaps Oakland-Craig can turn in a good effort and play well on Saturday.
I'm sure the Knights are working hard and giving it their all, but it appears Oakland-Craig just doesn't have the personnel healthy to be a real factor.
It's unfortunate because I feel the Knights are a better team than what they've shown so far.
Hopefully Oakland-Craig isn't shorthanded and doesn't have a thin bench on Saturday because the Knights are going to need everyone.
These girls have to rally around each other, and find some strength and will within to compete.
I know it's difficult and frustrating to lose the way Oakland-Craig has, but the Knights have to persevere and rise above their struggles.
Oakland-Craig has to right the ship and overcome their losses and struggles.
The Knights have to keep things positive and continue to improve and grow as student athletes and as young ladies.
Oakland-Craig has to have high character, and maintain good spirits despite their struggles.
Losing is never fun nor easy to take and so the Knights must find a way to start winning.
Perhaps Oakland-Craig will start doing better when they get some girls back, but regardless, the Knights need to play well in all facets of the game to be successful.
That includes hitting, passing, blocking, serving, and serve receiving well.
