North Bend Central starts season 8-0
The North Bend Central Volleyball team is 8-0 so far this year, defeating GACC and Allen 2-0 at the Northeast Nebraska Tournament last Thursday, Wisner-Pilger 2-0, Wayne and Fremont Bergan 2-1 at the tournament on Saturday, Pender and Emerson-Hubbard 2-0 at the Pender Triangular Tuesday night, and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family 3-0 at home Thursday night.
The Tigers downed the Bluejays 25-6 in set one and 25-9 in set two.
North Bend Central defeated the Eagles 25-9 in set one, and 25-13 in set two.
The Tigers beat the Knights 25-23 in sets one and three while dropping the second set 25-20.
North Bend Central took down the Gators 25-19 in sets one and two.
The Tigers knocked off the Blue Devils 25-23 in set one and 25-18 in set three while losing set two 25-23.
North Bend Central topped the Pendragons 25-14 in the first set, and 25-12 in the second set.
The Tigers took care of the Pirates 25-10 in set one, and 25-1 in set two.
North Bend Central rolled the Bulldogs 30-28 in set one, 25-16 in set two, and 25-14 in set three.
Very impressive start to the season for the Tigers. Much like we expected out of North Bend Central.
The Tigers (8-0) take on Raymond Central (0-6) in their first match of the North Bend Central Tournament on Saturday.
I'm not sure who is all in this tournament, but without Columbus Scotus in it the Tigers should have a very good chance of winning it.
Not that North Bend Central can't beat the Shamrocks, because I think they can, it's just Columbus Scotus isn't in the tournament this year.
The Tigers have been playing great Volleyball so far this season, and have been led by the likes of Kristin Lux and Brooke Fredrickson no doubt.
This team is tall and athletic...a matchup nightmare for just about anyone they play.
North Bend Central is the real deal, and I think the Tigers might just be better than they were last year.
If the Tigers keep up this pace they could very well find themselves down in Lincoln for the second year in a row.
North Bend Central just has to keep their eye on the prize, and continue to take things one match and one day at a time.
The Tigers shouldn't be concerned or focused on anyone but Raymond Central right now.
North Bend Central can look ahead after that match, but until then the Tigers need to be ready to take care of business against the Mustangs.
Every team deserves a lot of respect although I would say if North Bend Central is focused, ready, and prepared for Raymond Central they won't have much trouble taking down the Mustangs in two sets.
This tournament is another big opportunity for the Tigers to showcase their talent in my mind.
It has been a busy week for North Bend Central, and so the Tigers need to be up for one more tournament and one more day and go around before the week is over.
North Bend Central has to be sharp and on top of their game especially with Wisner-Pilger coming to town Tuesday night.
