GACC swept at Bishop Neumann and Hartington Cedar Catholic

The GACC Volleyball team lost to a couple of tough foes this week, losing 3-0 at Wahoo Neumann Tuesday night, and at Hartington Cedar Catholic Thursday night.

The Cavaliers won set one 25-13, set two 25-12, and set three 25-11.

Hanna Knobbe notched 7 digs while Kali Stratman totaled 9 set assists.

The Trojans took sets one and three 25-10, and set two 25-17.

Riley Throener had 7 kills while Stratman registered 16 set assists.

It was definitely tough sledding for the Bluejays this week. Back to the drawing board for GACC.

The Bluejays (5-9) face Battle Creek (11-6) on the road Tuesday night.

The Braves went 1-1 at their own Triangular Thursday night, beating Boone Central/Newman Grove 2-0, but losing 2-0 to Elgin Public/Pope John 2-0.

This is a winnable match for GACC. Battle Creek was also swept by Wahoo Neumann and Hartington Cedar Catholic when they played the two teams.

The Bluejays simply need more offensive production. Someone has to help out Throener, and more girls need to increase their stat totals.

GACC has to use this time off to find themselves, and figure something out to get on track.

The Bluejays need to figure something out soon to avoid letting this season get away from them.

GACC started out the year 3-2, but has since lost 7 out of their last 9.

This team has to do some soul searching, and a leader must emerge.

This Bluejay team has to rediscover the magic that past GACC teams have played with, and must start playing the way past Bluejay teams have.

Expectations are high at GACC, and so far the Bluejays have really struggled.

That's not to say GACC can't get things turned around though. There's still a lot of season left, and if there's a team that can right the ship, it is the Bluejays.

GACC has a tough road to hoe next week, but one thing is for sure...the Bluejays will be battle tested by the time the conference and subdistrict tournaments roll around.

GACC should be able to at least win 2 or their last 3 matches prior to the Mid-State Conference Tournament, but the Bluejays must have their sights set on bigger and better things, and doing more.

GACC has to continue to work hard and trust the process, and continue to learn and grow as Volleyball Players and young ladies.

This program has finished in the top 4 at State each of the last three years so one can never count the Bluejays out of anything.
