Winnebago loses to Wakefield and Homer
The Winnebago Volleyball Team lost 2-0 to Wakefield and Homer at the Wakefield Triangular Thursday night.
The Knights won set one 25-19, and set two 25-14.
The Trojans took the first set 25-10, and the second set 25-22.
I thought the Indians did a good job competing in one set in each match.
Winnebago (7-17) takes on Bloomfield (2-21) in the first round of the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament at Ponca on Saturday.
The Bees lost 2-0 to Madison and Elkhorn Valley at the Madison Triangular Thursday night.
The Indians should be able to win this match.
It's a bunny bracket match, and Winnebago should be able to take it.
A win of any kind is good for this team, and I'm sure the Indians would be very happy with a win over Bloomfield.
Winnebago can't take the Bees for granted and think this is a sure win though. The Indians aren't a team that can take anyone lightly.
The winner gets Ponca, and while it might be really difficult for Winnebago to beat them, just playing them and playing the best is what you want if you are Winnebago, or any team for that matter.
The Indians have to play with lots of mental and physical toughness, good team spirit, fire, tenacity, grit, passion, and pride.
Winnebago has to come out and lift one another up on the court, and give one another positive encouragement on every play if possible.
The Indians have to be authoritative and aggressive with their swings, and must hit their spots and overpower the Bees.
Winnebago has to take chances and try and go for it all against Bloomfield.
The Indians can't hold anything back, and should take it to the Bees the entire time.
Winnebago has to be relentless in their attack, and must attack Bloomfield with full force and aggression.
The Indians have to come out and lay the smackdown and hammer on the Bees, and make life extremely difficult on Bloomfield.
Winnebago has to come out and take care of business and get back on the winning side of things, and move on to face Ponca. I'm sure it would feel really good to experience another win, it's been a little bit for the Indians.
First serve between Winnebago and Bloomfield is set for 2:00 p.m.
