Winnebago loses to Bloomfield in Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament

The Winnebago Volleyball Team fell 2-0 to Bloomfield in the bunny bracket game of the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament at Ponca on Saturday.

The Indians lost set one 25-23, and set two 25-10.

Not an easy defeat to accept if you are Winnebago.

The Indians (7-18) take on Madison (3-21) in the C1-7 Sub-District Bunny Bracket Game at Norfolk High on Monday.

The Dragons beat St. Edward 2-0, but lost 2-0 to Riverside at the Riverside Triangular Tuesday night.

These two teams did not meet in the regular season.

Madison beat Bloomfield 2-0 at their home Triangular last Thursday night.

I feel this match is a toss up and can go either way, but Winnebago has to play much better than they did against the Bees.

The Indians have to want it more than the Dragons, and have to show a lot of pride and play with a lot of passion and attention to detail Monday evening.

This sub-district is pretty wide open as far as I'm concerned, and I think Winnebago has what it takes to be a factor.

Wayne awaits the winner later in the evening, and whoever wins between the Indians and Madison is going to have a challenge on their hands with playing a second best-of-five match.

Winnebago has to find some motivation and might from within, and play as well as they can.

The Indians have to find some extra giddy up, and play their best match of the season Monday evening.

Winning this match over the Dragons would be a good building block for Winnebago, in my opinion.

To get to 8 wins would be a good accomplishment for this Indian program.

Just to have a shot at Wayne, an opportunity to play the top seed, would be good if the Indians can get past Madison.

Given the way the two teams have played lately you would have to give the edge to the Dragons, but looking at the season as a whole, you would have to lean toward Winnebago.

I really feel this match can go either way, and whoever executes the best and plays better, will most likely win the match.

First serve is slated for 5:00 p.m.
