Emerson-Hubbard swept by Wakefield

The Emerson-Hubbard Volleyball Team lost 3-0 at Wakefield Tuesday night.

The Trojans took set one 25-16, set two 25-9, and set three 25-11.

I thought the Pirates did a decent job of competing in the first set. The other two sets didn't go as good as Emerson-Hubbard was hoping for though.

The Pirates (3-17) take part in the Hartington-Newcastle Invite on Saturday.

I don't know who's all in the tournament besides the host Wildcats, but I'm sure Emerson-Hubbard will be challenged regardless of who they play.

The Pirates have to find a will to win and compete.

Emerson-Hubbard has just had a tough season, and could really use something to go their way.

The Pirates are just 1-8 in their last 9 matches, but have to continue to fight on and press forward.

Emerson-Hubbard has to come ready to play on Saturday, and must take the fight to whoever they play.

The Pirates need to serve, pass, hit, and block aggressively and smartly, and serve receive well also.

Emerson-Hubbard has to play with fight, might, and a spark of energy.

The Pirates have to give it their all on Saturday, and make all teams they play earn their points.

Emerson-Hubbard has to be fundamentally sound, and limit mistakes.

Service and hitting errors need to be at a minimum for the Pirates to find success I would say.

If Emerson-Hubbard gives away free points then they are going to struggle, in my opinion.

If the Pirates commit few errors though then they should be in pretty good shape.

Emerson-Hubbard has to create their own momentum, and get things going on Saturday.

The Pirates have to do whatever they can to get their season headed in the right direction because time is running out.

The road isn't easy prior to the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament so Emerson-Hubbard has to do their best to get things going on Saturday so they have a better chance to turn in two competitive and good performances at their home Triangular against Winside and Hartington-Newcastle Tuesday night than if they don't get things going this weekend.
