West Point-Beemer goes 3-1 at East Husker Conference Tournament; beats Boone Central/Newman Grove
The West Point-Beemer Volleyball Team went 3-1 at the East Husker Conference Tournament last week, beating BRLD 2-0, but losing 2-0 to Stanton at Stanton last Thursday night before knocking off Tekamah-Herman and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family 2-0 at Logan View on Saturday. The Cadets then turned around and beat Boone Central/Newman Grove 3-1 at home Tuesday night.
West Point-Beemer topped the Wolverines 25-12 in set one, and 25-10 in set two.
The Mustangs downed the Cadets 25-13 in the first set, and 25-18 in the second set.
West Point-Beemer defeated the Tigers 25-21 in set one, and 25-22 in set two.
The Cadets topped the Bulldogs 25-22 in the first set, and 25-16 in the second set.
The Cardinals won set one 25-20, but West Point-Beemer took the next three sets 25-18, 25-15, and 25-17.
The Cadets are rolling right now. West Point-Beemer has won 5 out of their last 7 matches with both losses in that stretch coming to Stanton.
The Cadets (16-11) take on Pender (5-21) and Howells-Dodge (13-14) at the Pender Triangular Tuesday night to round out the regular season.
The Pendragons lost 3-0 at home to BRLD Tuesday night while the Jaguars fell 3-0 at home to North Bend Central Tuesday night.
West Point-Beemer won 3-2 at Howells-Dodge in the season opener.
I think the Cadets have a chance to win both these matches, and improve their seeding for Subdistricts.
Right now West Point-Beemer is sitting pretty for the No. 1 seed in their subdistrict.
That has to give the Cadets confidence, and a little extra fortitude to do well in and win both matches Tuesday night.
I think West Point-Beemer is starting to play its best Volleyball at the right time, and is a legit threat to make a district final.
I feel the Cadets have made some really good progress over the last couple of weeks, and have set themselves up to be successful the rest of the season.
West Point-Beemer appears to have things going and clicking on all cylinders, and I look for the Cadets to cap off the regular season with two wins Tuesday night.
The Howells-Dodge match will not be easy, but West Point-Beemer should have no trouble beating Pender.
The Cadets are peaking at the right time and really starting to put things together. The Tekamah-Herman win was big, in my opinion, as the Tigers figure to be one of West Point-Beemer's biggest threats in Subdistricts.
The Cadets just simply have to keep up the good work and continue to get better.
West Point-Beemer can't be complacent or satisfied with where they're at right now.
The Cadets have to want more, and must keep on chugging along and continue to make progress.
West Point-Beemer has to keep taking steps forward as a team and program.
