North Bend Central downs Tekamah-Herman and BRLD; wins first East Husker Conference Tournament Game over Howells-Dodge

The North Bend Central Volleyball team swept Tekamah-Herman 3-0 at home last Thursday night, BRLD 3-0 on the road Tuesday night, and Howells-Dodge 2-0 at home Thursday night in the East Husker Conference Tournament.

North Bend Central beat Tekamah-Herman 25-23 in set one, 25-16 in set two, and 25-11 in set three.

The Tigers defeated the Wolverines 25-12 in set one, 25-9 in set two, and 25-18 in set three.

North Bend Central knocked off the Jaguars 25-12 in the first set, and 25-19 in the second set.

The Tigers have been nothing but dominant this season. Nothing appears to be stopping North Bend Central.

The Tigers (21-0) take on Wisner-Pilger (19-6) in the East Husker Conference Tournament Semifinals at Logan View on Saturday.

The Gators beat Logan View 2-0 and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family 2-0 at home in the tournament Thursday night.

Wisner-Pilger is playing very good Volleyball right now as they are 14-3 in their last 17 matches.

North Bend Central owns two sweeps over the Gators this season, but both matches were played in the first 8 matches of the year for Wisner-Pilger.

The Tigers have been consistently dominant this year, but Wisner-Pilger is coming along and has to be viewed as a legit threat to give North Bend Central a match.

As good as the Gators are playing though, I don't know if it will be good enough to upset the mighty Tigers.

North Bend Central is experienced, and a veteran laden team, and has dominated people so far this season.

A lot of people are probably banking on a North Bend Central/Stanton Championship Match, and that could very likely happen, but the Tigers have to get by Wisner-Pilger first.

It's never easy to beat a team three times in a season, but that is what North Bend Central will try and do against the Gators when the two teams meet.

Kristin Lux, Brooke Fredrickson, Kaitlynn Bjorklund, and others need to have big and outstanding matches for the Tigers.

It's those three up against the likes of Jordan Wegner, Maci Batenhorst, Lauren Jacobsen, Ariel Meyer, and Ashton Meyer.

Both teams have a lot of talent, but I think North Bend Central's is superior.

There's also a lot of Volleyball knowledge between the two coaches so it should be a great match.

I could see the Tigers sweeping Wisner-Pilger 2-0 or getting pushed to a third set, but either way I like North Bend Central to win.

The match will start after the Clarkson/Leigh/Stanton match, which will begin at 2:15 p.m.
