North Bend Central wins East Husker Conference Tournament

The North Bend Central Volleyball Team won the East Husker Conference Tournament at Logan View on Saturday, defeating Wisner-Pilger 2-0 in the Semifinals, and Stanton 3-1 in the Championship Match.

The Tigers topped the Gators 25-16 in set one, and 25-15 in set two.

North Bend Central lost set one to the Mustangs, 25-16, before taking set two 25-18, set three 25-16, and set four 25-17.

The Tigers have continued their mastery, and are playing great Volleyball.

North Bend Central (23-0) takes on Howells-Dodge (13-13) on the road Tuesday night.

The Jaguars lost 2-1 to Tekamah-Herman and 2-0 to Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family at the Tournament on Saturday.

The Tigers knocked off Howells-Dodge 2-0 at the Tournament on Thursday.

I look for North Bend Central to continue their run of dominance, and turn in another big performance Tuesday night.

I look for the Tigers to sweep the Jaguars, and win with relative ease.

Howells-Dodge is a young team that has really struggled lately while North Bend Central is an experienced, well oiled machine.

The Jaguars are just 4-11 in their last 15 matches, and I look for the Tigers to add to Howells-Dodge's woes.

North Bend Central gets Stanton again next week, and what a great match that should be.

The Tigers have to be focused on an up and coming Jaguars squad though, and can't be focused on any other matches beyond Tuesday night.

North Bend Central has done such a great job staying focused throughout the season, and that's a testament to their mental toughness as well as coaching.

North Bend Central is a great team, and this has truly been a special season for the Tigers.

North Bend Central has a good chance to win the whole thing I think.

The Tigers are a great team, and truly have something special brewing.

It would be such a big deal for North Bend Central to win a State Title there's no doubt about it.

Some tough teams and matches await the Tigers, but nothing that North Bend Central can't handle, overcome, and beat, in my opinion.

The Tigers have already won four tournament championships this season so now it's matter of rolling through the rest of the regular season unscathed prior to Subdistricts.

North Bend Central has already passed so many tests, and seems to be able to continue to focus themselves on every match regardless of what's at stake or the circumstances.

Often times people say in sports a loss does a team good...allows them to refocus and stuff. Well I don't think that's the case with the Tigers.

I would say North Bend Central prepares for and focuses on every match so well that losing one isn't going to do them any good.

Thursday night's match can be heard on 107.9 the Bull beginning at 7:30.
