Scribner-Snyder drops both matches of West Point-Beemer Triangular

The Scribner-Snyder Volleyball Team lost 2-0 to Stanton and 2-1 to West Point-Beemer at the West Point-Beemer Triangular Tuesday night.

The Mustangs knocked off the Trojans 25-8 in the first set, and 25-13 in the second set.

Kaylee Boyle paced Scribner-Snyder with 3 kills and 18 set assists.

In the Scribner-Snyder/West Point-Beemer match, the Cadets took set one 25-11 and set three 25-15 after the Trojans claimed set two 25-23.

Boyle recorded 10 kills and 7 set assists for Scribner-Snyder while Emily Lewin added 8 digs.

Head Coach Shelly Schulenberg on the losses. "We have not been playing our best ball for oh about a week or so. We were off for more than a week, and that really hurt us I think. We got to try and figure out something different in that schedule so that we're not off for almost a week and-a-half without playing a game. So that was definitely not to our advantage."

Scribner-Snyder (8-9) is in action on Thursday at the East Husker Conference Tournament, taking on Tekamah-Herman (14-9) at Clarkson/Leigh at 4:30 p.m.

The Tigers lost 3-1 at Wisner-Pilger Tuesday night.

Tekamah-Herman is a very tough team that has lost to some quality teams, but don't count out Scribner-Snyder.

The Tigers beat West Point-Beemer 3-2 while the Cadets downed the Trojans 2-1 so I think Scribner-Snyder at least has the potential to compete with Tekamah-Herman.

The Trojans may not win, but Scribner-Snyder should have a good chance to win their second match of the night if they can't knock off the Tigers.

Kaylee and Nicole Boyle, and Lewin, need to have big matches for the Trojans if they hope to upset the Tigers.

Scribner-Snyder has dropped three in a row, and it's simply time to get back on track.

Having a long layoff definitely hurt the Trojans, but now Scribner-Snyder is back in game shape, and should be ready to go.

I think the Trojans will represent themselves very well on Thursday, and play well in both matches.

I think Scribner-Snyder will compete in all or most sets, and make life difficult on whoever they play.

If Tekamah-Herman beats the Trojans it won't be because of a lack of effort or execution on Scribner-Snyder's part I would say.

It will be simply because the Tigers made more plays, and played better.

Execution is very critical for the Trojans. Scribner-Snyder has to serve, hit, pass, block, and serve receive at a high level and with a high percentage.

The Trojans must play with fire, passion, tenacity, grit, as well as physical and mental toughness.

Scribner-Snyder has to be tougher and want it more than Tekamah-Herman.

The Trojans need to play with a sense of urgency and purpose, and play aggressive, yet smart Volleyball.

Scribner-Snyder is very capable of playing well on Thursday, and if the Trojans play their best match and the Tigers have an off match, perhaps Scribner-Snyder can win.

It won't be easy, but anything is possible. The Trojans just have to believe in themselves and one another.
