Tekamah-Herman loses to North Bend Central and Wisner-Pilger
The Tekamah-Herman Volleyball Team lost 3-0 at North Bend Central Thursday night, and 3-1 at Wisner-Pilger Tuesday night.
North Bend Central swept Tekamah-Herman 25-23 in set one, 25-16 in set two, and 25-11 in set three.
Wisner-Pilger earned a 25-17 set one win over the Tigers. Tekamah-Herman bounced back to win set two 26-24 before the Gators took set three 25-8, and set four 25-17.
Two tough matches and breaks for the Tigers. Tekamah-Herman competed well in some ways, but maybe not in others I would say.
The Tigers (14-9) battle Scribner-Snyder (8-9) in the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament at Clarkson/Leigh Thursday afternoon.
The Trojans lost 2-0 to Stanton, and 2-1 to West Point-Beemer at the West Point-Beemer Triangular Tuesday night.
Scribner-Snyder is a solid team, but hasn't played a lot of matches lately.
I think this match could be pretty competitive, but I like Tekamah-Herman to win and advance.
I think the Tigers could pull off a big upset of Clarkson/Leigh perhaps too.
I think Tekamah-Herman got a good draw, and has a good chance to make some noise on Thursday.
The Tigers ought to feel pretty good and confident about their chances even though they're coming off two losses.
Scribner-Snyder is a D-2 school while Clarkson/Leigh is D-1 so advantage Tekamah-Herman with the Tigers being a C-1 school.
The Patriots are a very nice team, but I would say North Bend Central and Wisner-Pilger are better.
Tekamah-Herman is a battle tested team, and I'm just saying don't sleep on the Tigers.
Clarkson/Leigh and Stanton could very well meet in the Semifinals, but I think Tekamah-Herman will have something to say about it if Oakland-Craig doesn't.
Out of the all the matches and potential upsets I see the Tigers over the Patriots as being the most likely, along with Wisner-Pilger over North Bend Central perhaps.
Stanton got a really good draw while I think the other side of the bracket is tougher.
This should be an interesting tournament, and I think Tekamah-Herman has a chance to be a factor and do something.
Even if the Tigers don't beat Clarkson/Leigh, I fully expect Tekamah-Herman to compete right with and give the Patriots a scare.
I think the Tigers are a very tough team that has competed well throughout the course of the season, and I look for Tekamah-Herman to continue their prowess on Thursday.
The Tigers have to be excited and very motivated with the opportunity they could be given.
Tekamah-Herman has to worry about taking care of business against Scribner-Snyder first, but if the Tigers knock off the Trojans, then look out for Tekamah-Herman in the next match.
