Logan View drops both matches of home Triangular
The Logan View Volleyball team dropped both of their matches at their home Triangular Tuesday night, falling 2-0 to Fremont Bergan and Oakland-Craig.
Bergan took set one 25-12, and set two 25-6.
Oakland-Craig claimed the first set 25-17, and the second set 25-23.
I'm sure the Raiders probably feel they could of and should of been more competitive against both teams. Logan View competed against Oakland-Craig, in my opinion, but easily could of won the match, or at least taken a set I would say.
The Raiders (5-18) take on Wisner-Pilger (17-6) in the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament at Wisner Thursday night.
The Gators knocked off Tekamah-Herman 3-1 at home Tuesday night.
This certainly won't be an easy match for Wisner-Pilger, but upsets happen all the time.
If memory serves me correct, Clarkson/Leigh upset Logan View/Scribner-Snyder in the first round of the Boys Basketball EHC Tournament two years ago, so upsets can happen, and the Raiders are certainly capable of making it happen Thursday night.
What is working against Logan View though is the Gators are 12-3 in their last 15 matches.
Wisner-Pilger is on fire right now, and the Raiders struggled Tuesday night, in my opinion.
Logan View needs to get back to their competitive ways, and at least make a set close against the Gators.
The Raiders had been consistently making a set of every match close as of late up until the Fremont Bergan match so I know Logan View can definitely get back to that.
Slowing down the likes of Jordan Wegner, Maci Batenhorst, and Ariel Meyer will be super critical, in my opinion.
Those three are arguably Wisner-Pilger's three best players, and they contribute a lot in the stat column, along with Lauren Jacobsen.
The Gators are a very tough team, there's no doubt about it, and it's going to take an extraordinary effort from Logan View to pull off the upset.
Wisner-Pilger is a program to model yours after so the Raiders have to take note of the way the Gators do things, and perhaps try to incorporate some of the philosophies and ideologies into their play.
Wisner-Pilger has a winning philosophy, a philosophy that has worked for a long time, and one that has the Gators going and streaking right now.
It will be tough for Logan View to stop the momentum Wisner-Pilger has on their side right now, but it's the East Husker Conference Tournament and anything can happen.
The biggest things for the Raiders are being confident and not afraid, in my opinion.
Logan View has to make Wisner-Pilger earn their points, and must not go down without a fight.
The Raiders have to execute in all areas of the game, and not beat themselves and give away easy points to the Gators.
Logan View can't get down on themselves after mistakes either. Everything needs to remain upbeat and positive throughout the match.
