Oakland-Craig falls at Wisner-Pilger in regular season finale

The Oakland-Craig Volleyball Team lost 3-0 at Wisner-Pilger Tuesday night to end the regular season.

The Gators took set one 25-16, set two 25-6, and set three 25-13.

Difficult end a tough regular season for the Knights.

Oakland-Craig (7-24) battles Homer (7-21) in the bunny bracket match of the C2-2 Sub-District Tournament at Pender Monday evening.

Homer lost 2-0 to Laurel-Concord-Coleridge and Hartington-Newcastle in the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament on Saturday.

This should be an interesting match as should all the matches in this Sub-District.

This Sub-District is set up for a low seed to advance to a District Final.

So as tough as the regular season was for Oakland-Craig, they have a shot at redemption Monday evening.

The winner gets top seeded Wakefield, who is only 11-13.

I feel this Sub-District is wide open, and anyone can win it.

Oakland-Craig has to believe in themselves and in each other, and go out there and make it happen.

Oakland-Craig has to forget about what happened in the regular season, and start fresh.

Everyone is 0-0 right now. Anything can happen in the postseason.

Oakland-Craig has to play intense, and with a lot of might and mental and physical toughness.

Oakland-Craig has to play with confidence as well.

They have to find some motivation and courage and strength and resolve from within to go out there and compete and play well.

Oakland-Craig has to stress excellence and great play in the postseason.

It's the time of year where champions are born and dreams are realized, and Oakland-Craig is certainly capable of getting the job done.

It's time to make history if you are Oakland-Craig. The stakes couldn't be any higher than they are this time of year.

Oakland-Craig and Homer will go at it starting at 5:00 p.m. The winner gets Wakefield in a 7:30 p.m. match.
