Pender wins season opener over Logan View/Scribner-Snyder

The Pender Volleyball Team got the ball rolling Tuesday night, winning 3-1 at Logan View/Scribner-Snyder.

The Pendragons won set one 25-23 and set two 25-20 before losing set three 25-23. Pender then won set four 25-15.

Great to win to start the season and get things started off on the right foot for the Pendragons.

Pender (1-0) takes on Wakefield (0-0) and Oakland-Craig (1-0) at home in the Northeast Nebraska Classic Thursday night.

This is the first action of the season for the Trojans while the Knights won 3-1 at home over Howells-Dodge Thursday night.

I think the Pendragons have a good chance to beat Wakefield, and feel they can hang right with the Knights.

It could very well be a battle of Bailey Helzer against Caitlyn Heise in the match against Oakland-Craig.

I feel the Knights could win the match 2-1, but there is a reason games are played on the court and not on paper.

Either way I feel like Pender is up and coming and there is a lot of promise and potential for this season and in the future.

A win over the Trojans in the first match of the night would no doubt set the stage for the Oakland-Craig match in the final match of the evening.

This is a big deal and opportunity for the Pendragons, and they have to make the most of it.

I don't know what kind of crowd Pender will be playing in front of so I don't know if the Pendragons will be able to feed off the crowd at all, but I imagine Pender will find a way to get fired up from within nonetheless.

The Pendragons have to build off what they did Tuesday night and keep things rolling and going Thursday night.
