The North Bend Central Volleyball Team went 3-1 at Saturday's David City Invite, winning 2-0 over Shelby-Rising City, losing 2-0 to David City, beating Central City 2-0, and winning 2-1 over David City Aquinas.
The Tigers smashed the Huskies 25-15 in set one and 25-7 in set two.
The Scouts won set one 28-26, and set two 25-21.
NBC won set one 25-11, and set two 25-17 over the Bison.
The Tigers took set one over the Monarchs 25-19, and won set three 25-18 after losing set two 25-14.
Good, strong, solid play from North Bend Central on Saturday.
The Tigers (11-7) travel to Malcolm to take on the Clippers (13-6) Thursday night.
Malcolm was swept 3-0 at home by Wahoo Tuesday night.
The Warriors are a great and dynamic team once again this season.
This is going to be a tough match for North Bend Central, especially with it being in Malcolm.
The Tigers can definitely go in there and win though if they play a great match.
I look for this thing to go 4 or 5 sets.
North Bend Central has to build off the good things they did on Saturday.
The Tigers lost to a quality David City Team Coached by Tali Reeves, who played for GICC and Wayne State.
So hopefully NBC learns from that experience and comes out and plays and performs well come Thursday night.
The Tigers are only a few years removed from a State Tournament run that included a State win over Malcolm.
These two have been kind of going back in forth the last handful number of years or so, and I look for this match to be just as good as the others have been.
