The North Bend Central Volleyball Team won 2-1 over Fremont Bergan and 2-0 over GACC at home last Thursday night in the Northeast Nebraska Classic before falling 2-0 to West Point-Beemer, Oakland-Craig, and Lutheran High Northeast on Saturday. The Tigers then swept Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family 3-0 on the road Thursday night.
The Tigers lost set one to Bergan 25-22 before winning set two 25-14 and set three 25-23.
NBC beat the Bluejays 25-10 in set one and 25-22 in set two.
The Tigers fell 25-12 in set one to the Cadets, and lost set two 25-18.
Oakland-Craig won set one 25-19 and set two 25-22.
The Eagles won set one 25-21 and set two 25-20.
North Bend Central downed the Bulldogs 25-23 in set one, 25-13 in set two, and 25-21 in set three.
Good play by the Tigers on both Thursdays.
North Bend Central (5-3) hosts David City Aquinas (3-2) and Wayne (4-3) in a Triangular on Saturday.
The Monarchs swept Shelby/Rising City 3-0 at home Thursday night while Wayne lost in five sets at Columbus Scotus Tuesday night.
Should be a very competitive Triangular for sure.
I feel like both teams have what it takes and can win both matches, but it won't be easy.
Wayne is really tough, and could sweep this Triangular.
I think it could be a three way split too, but we shall see.
NBC has to play well and do what they did on their home floor in the Northeast Nebraska Classic.
If the Tigers play like that they are going to be very difficult to beat.
North Bend Central has to be on top of their game though.
The Tigers can't afford to struggle or be sluggish come Saturday.
