The Pender Volleyball Team fell 2-0 to Oakland-Craig and Wakefield at home in the Northeast Nebraska Classic on Thursday before losing 2-0 to Wisner-Pilger and Fremont Bergan, but beating Tekamah-Herman 2-1 at home on Saturday. The Pendragons then won 2-0 over Tri County Northeast, but lost 2-0 to Howells-Dodge at their home Triangular Tuesday night.
The Trojans downed the Pendragons 25-20 in set one and 25-12 in set two.
The Knights beat Pender 25-15 in sets one and two.
The Gators defeated the Pendragons 25-16 in set one and 25-13 in set two.
The Knights downed Pender 25-18 in set one and 25-19 in set two.
The Pendragons beat the Tigers 25-18 in set one, lost set two 25-22, but took set three 25-20.
The Jaguars beat Pender 25-15 in set one and 25-22 in set two.
The Pendragons upended the Wolfpack 25-23 in sets one and two.
I think Pender is a much improved team, and has shown it so far this year.
The Pendragons (3-5) have another challenge on their hands come Thursday night when they host Clarkson/Leigh (4-0) in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.
The Patriots beat BRLD 3-1 on the road Tuesday night.
Clarkson/Leigh is playing at a very high level right now, and will be tough and difficult for the Pendragons to beat.
Pender is a good, quality team, and has done some nice things so far this season so I fully expect the Pendragons to go out there and compete and hold their own come Thursday night.
This is an opportunity for Pender to come out and upset a quality opponent.
The match will be on the Bull too so even more incentive to come out and play well Thursday night.
The Pendragons have to play out of their minds and be all over the court Thursday night.
Pender has to know when balls are going to be in and out and must communicate that.
The Pendragons have to work hard and be physically and mentally tough.
Caitlyn Heise has to have a big match and Pender has to watch out for Cassidy Hoffman and Kayden Schumacher.
Executing in all facets of the game such as serving, serve receiving, blocking, hitting, and passing are all important as well, in my opinion.
First serve is slated for 7:30 p.m. on the Bull.
