The Clarkson/Leigh Volleyball Team won their home Triangular over High Plains and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family last Thursday night, defeating both teams 2-0. The Patriots then beat Hartington Cedar Catholic and Stanton 2-0, but lost 2-0 to Battle Creek at the Stanton Tournament on Saturday.
The Patriots defeated the Storm 25-13 in set one and 25-11 in set two.
Kennedy Settje had 10 digs while Chloe Hanel totaled 8. Makenna Held added 18 assists.
Clarkson/Leigh downed the Bulldogs 25-11 in set one and 25-18 in set two.
Cassidy Hoffman had 14 kills while Hanel notched 7. Held dished out 29 assists.
The Patriots topped the Mustangs 25-18 in set one and 25-20 in set two.
Hanel had 10 kills while Held registered 19 assists.
Clarkson/Leigh topped the Trojans 25-23 in set one and 25-17 in set two.
Hoffman and Hanel each had 9 kills while Bailey Lemburg notched 7 digs. Held chipped in 24 assists.
The Bravettes took set one 25-21 and set two 25-20.
Kayden Schumacher had 8 digs while Lemburg posted 7. Held recorded 14 assists.
Continued great play from Clarkson/Leigh. Two close set losses to Battle Creek, and while you never want to lose, I feel there are many positives to take away from a loss like that, especially with it being the first loss of the season for the Patriots.
Clarkson/Leigh (9-1) takes part in the Hampton Invite on Saturday.
The Patriots play Silver Lake at 10:00 a.m., and Mead at 12:30 p.m.
Clarkson/Leigh will have one more game after that at either 1:45 or 3:00 p.m.
I think the Patriots have a chance to do really well in and win this Tournament.
Both the Mustangs and Raiders are good, quality tough teams, but I don't feel either one of them plays the caliber of competition that Clarkson/Leigh does.
The Patriots have to go out there and be ready to play and really want it come Saturday.
Clarkson/Leigh can definitely win this Tournament as they can do anything they put their mind to.
The Patriots have to get a good night's rest and be energetic and excited and full of energy come Saturday morning.
Clarkson/Leigh has to continue to play the type of great Volleyball they have all season long.
The Patriots have to remain calm when things get tough, and be the tougher team.
Clarkson/Leigh has to be physically and mentally tougher than the rest of the field.
The Patriots have to go out there and get it on Saturday, and play superb Volleyball.
