North Bend Central sweeps Madison Triangular

The North Bend Central Volleyball Team won 2-0 over Shelby-Rising City and Madison at the Madison Triangular Tuesday night.

The Tigers won set one over the Huskies, 25-9, and took set two 25-18.

NBC defeated the Dragons 25-8 in set one, and 25-11 in set two.

A couple of solid wins and performances to start the season for the Tigers.

North Bend Central (2-0) hosts Fremont Bergan (2-0) and GACC (0-2) in the Northeast Nebraska Classic Thursday night.

The Knights won 3-1 at home over Omaha Roncalli in Thursday night's season opener before sweeping Lincoln Christian 3-0 at home Tuesday night.

The Bluejays lost 3-2 at David City Aquinas Thursday night and 3-1 at Norfolk Catholic Tuesday night.

The Tigers definitely have a challenge on their hands in this one.

Bergan has beaten two really good teams and programs in classes ahead of them.

North Bend Central has beaten a couple of C-2 Schools who probably aren't as strong as Roncalli and Lincoln Christian.

With that said, the Tigers were very dominant in their first two matches and are a great team and program, and tough to beat at home.

GACC appears to be fairly young this year, and has struggled in the early season.

I think NBC finds a way to beat the Bluejays, and I think the Tigers could very well beat the Knights as well, but the way the first two matches of the season went for Bergan makes them a real and legit threat to beat NBC.

So the Tigers have to be on their game early and often come Thursday night, and must come ready to play.

Should North Bend Central lose to Bergan, they can't let a loss to the Knights affect their play against the Bluejays.

The Tigers have to bring it against both teams.
