Wahoo remained undefeated on the season when they swept Oakland-Craig in three sets in high school volleyball from Oakland aired on 107.9 The Bull Thursday night, Sept. 17.
The Warriors won the match 25-16, 25-23, 25-23.
Bailey Helzer had 20 kills and 7 digs while Laryn Johnson notched 9 digs. Josie Richards added 28 assists.
Great effort from the Knights, they just came up a little short.
Oakland-Craig (9-3) travels to GACC to take on the Bluejays (7-5) Thursday night.
The Bluejays swept Homer 3-0 at home Tuesday night.
GACC figures to be a very tough and formidable foe as the Bluejays are 4-1 in their last five matches.
GACC has really come on as of late, and is doing great, extraordinary, and outstanding things.
I look for this match to be really good, and perhaps even go five sets.
But the Knights have a player in Helzer, who is a very special Volleyball player.
She had a great match against the Warriors, and I look for her to play very well again against the Bluejays.
She is the leader for Oakland-Craig and really makes the Knights go.
You can bet GACC will throw everything they can at her to stop her, so she will have to be ready to roll for sure.
Helzer can definitely have another big match though, and I feel like if she does that may carry the Knights past the Bluejays in say five sets.
Should be a great match for sure come Thursday night.
