Stanton loses to Oakland-Craig and Tekamah-Herman at Tekamah-Herman Triangular

The Stanton Volleyball Team lost 2-0 to Oakland-Craig and Tekamah-Herman at the Tekamah-Herman Triangular Tuesday night.

The Knights claimed set one 25-18 and set two 25-16.

The Tigers took the opening set 25-23 and the second set 25-12.

A couple of tough losses for Stanton.

The Mustangs (4-15) host Wayne (15-7) Thursday night.

The Blue Devils beat West Point-Beemer and Arlington 2-0 at the Arlington Triangular Tuesday night.

Wayne has won 7 in a row while Stanton has dropped 8 out of their last 9 so the Mustangs have a difficult task and battle on their hands come Thursday night.

Stanton has to show some fight though and go out there and compete.

I feel like the Mustangs could and should be more competitive this year than they have been so far.

It has been a difficult go of things for Stanton this year.

The Mustangs returned quite a bit from last year too I believe.

I kind of feel like Stanton has kind of underachieved and fallen off some this season.

The Mustangs are definitely capable of getting back to the level they've been at in recent years, but something has to spark a change.

Stanton has to light a fire under themselves and go out there and play great Volleyball Thursday night.

Many are probably thinking this match is going to be 3-0 Wayne, and it very well could be, but the Mustangs can't go into and approach this one thinking that.

Stanton has to go in there expecting to win and dominate like they have in recent years.

The Mustangs have to step up their game and try and get things turned around before season's end.

Much easier said than done though given who Stanton has left on the schedule this year.

North Bend Central goes 3-1 at David City Invite

The North Bend Central Volleyball Team went 3-1 at Saturday's David City Invite, winning 2-0 over Shelby-Rising City, losing 2-0 to David City, beating Central City 2-0, and winning 2-1 over David City Aquinas.

The Tigers smashed the Huskies 25-15 in set one and 25-7 in set two.

The Scouts won set one 28-26, and set two 25-21.

NBC won set one 25-11, and set two 25-17 over the Bison.

The Tigers took set one over the Monarchs 25-19, and won set three 25-18 after losing set two 25-14.

Good, strong, solid play from North Bend Central on Saturday.

The Tigers (11-7) travel to Malcolm to take on the Clippers (13-6) Thursday night.

Malcolm was swept 3-0 at home by Wahoo Tuesday night.

The Warriors are a great and dynamic team once again this season.

This is going to be a tough match for North Bend Central, especially with it being in Malcolm.

The Tigers can definitely go in there and win though if they play a great match.

I look for this thing to go 4 or 5 sets.

North Bend Central has to build off the good things they did on Saturday.

The Tigers lost to a quality David City Team Coached by Tali Reeves, who played for GICC and Wayne State.

So hopefully NBC learns from that experience and comes out and plays and performs well come Thursday night.

The Tigers are only a few years removed from a State Tournament run that included a State win over Malcolm.

These two have been kind of going back in forth the last handful number of years or so, and I look for this match to be just as good as the others have been.

Pender 3-1 in last four matches

The Pender Volleyball Team went 1-1 at their home Triangular Thursday night, losing 2-0 to Howells-Dodge, but beating Cedar Bluffs 2-0. The Pendragons then won 3-1 at Winside Monday night and 3-1 at Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family Tuesday night.

The Jaguars won set one 25-18 and set two 25-18.

Zoey Lehmkuhl had 9 digs and 7 assists.

The Pendragons topped Cedar Bluffs 25-14 in set one, and 25-15 in set two.

Ashley Ostrand had 8 kills and 8 digs while Olyvia Nelson totaled 8 kills. Lehmkuhl notched 11 digs and 14 assists.

Pender won set one 25-19 and set two 25-18 over Winside before the Wildcats took set three 25-22 only to see the Pendragons claim set four 25-23.

Ostrand had 13 kills and 19 digs while Nelson totaled 13 kills. Lehmkuhl registered 7 kills, 18 digs, and 29 assists while Caitlyn Heise, Kirsten Frey, and Brie Bruns posted 10, 9 and 8 digs, respectively.

Pender took set one over the Bulldogs 25-17, and won set two 25-20, and set four 25-18 after losing set three 25-14.

Ostrand had 17 kills and 16 digs while Frey totaled 14 digs. Lehmkuhl recorded 11 digs and dished out 24 assists while Heise chipped in 7 digs.

Great play from the Pendragons in their last four matches!

Pender (8-8) takes on Neligh-Oakdale (5-9) and Tri County Northeast (2-8) at the Neligh-Oakdale Triangular Thursday night.

The Wolfpack lost 3-1 at Ponca Tuesday night while the Warriors beat Plainview 2-0 at the Plainview Triangular Tuesday night.

I think the Pendragons can win both matches, especially given the way they've been playing lately.

Tri County Northeast comes in with some momentum having taken a set from the Indians, and Neligh-Oakdale has played a tough schedule this year, but Pender is getting hot at the right time.

If the Pendragons play the way they did against Cedar Bluffs, Winside, and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family they should win both matches.

The road win at H/LHF was very impressive and sticks out to me.

The win goes to show that Pender is much improved, and has what it takes to win on the road against a good, quality team and program in the East Husker Conference.

Hopefully that along with the other wins the Pendragons have racked up lately leads to even more success down the line.

Pender has a big opportunity in front of them Thursday night.

The Pendragons could be a couple games above .500 at the start of October, which would be a very good thing and sign heading into the home stretch and what's all coming up for Pender before season's end.

Tri County Northeast falls to BRLD and Ponca

The Tri County Northeast Volleyball Team lost 3-0 at home to BRLD Thursday night before falling 3-1 at Ponca Tuesday night.

The Wolverines won sets one and two 25-19, and set three 26-24.

Jordyn Carr had 10 kills and 9 digs while Alli Jackson notched 8 kills and 13 digs. Carly Dickens added 21 assists.

The Indians won set one 25-15 before the Wolfpack won set two 25-22. Ponca then won set three 25-20 and set four 25-14.

Two losses to two powers and very good teams for Tri County Northeast.

The Wolfpack (2-8) squares off with Pender (8-8) and Neligh-Oakdale (5-9) at the Neligh-Oakdale Triangular Thursday night.

The Pendragons won 3-1 at Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family Tuesday night while the Warriors beat Plainview 2-0 at the Plainview Triangular Tuesday night.

I think Tri County Northeast has an uphill battle against Pender, who defeated the Wolfpack 2-0 at the Pender Triangular on September 8th.

I think Tri County Northeast has a better chance for success against the host Warriors.

Neligh-Oakdale is still a tough team and has lost to some quality team this year and played a tough schedule.

So the Warriors won't be easy to contend with whatsoever.

Some tough and stingy competition in this Triangular for the Wolfpack for sure.

Tri County Northeast has to come out and be prepared to fight and battle from start to finish.

The Wolfpack has to step it up and come in and play great and superb Volleyball come Thursday night.

Tri County Northeast has to bring their best effort and play their best game against both Pender and Neligh-Oakdale.

The Wolfpack can't back down from or fear either team.

Tri County Northeast has to battle, and try and find a way to come out on top in both matches.

BRLD 2-2 in last four matches

The BRLD Volleyball Team won 3-0 at Tri County Northeast Thursday night before defeating Omaha Nation 3-0 on the road Monday night. The Wolverines then lost 2-1 to Wisner-Pilger and 2-0 to Howells-Dodge at the Wisner-Pilger Double Triangular Tuesday night.

The Wolverines took sets one and two from the Wolfpack 25-19, and won set three 26-24.

Caragan Tietz had 10 kills and 17 digs while Aubrey Berg had 14 digs. Brooklyn Nolting added 10 digs and 7 assists.

BRLD crushed the Chiefs 25-7 in set one, 25-8 in set two, and 25-10 in set three.

Kinlee Bacon had 8 ace serves.

The Jaguars downed the Wolverines 25-18 in set one, and 25-12 in set two.

BRLD won set one over the Gators 26-24 before losing set two 26-24 and set three 25-20.

Some dominant play and wins for the Wolverines, and some tough defeats.

BRLD (14-8) takes on Oakland-Craig (13-3) on the road Thursday night.

The Knights won 2-1 over Tekamah-Herman and 2-0 over Stanton at the Tekamah-Herman Triangular Tuesday night.

Oakland-Craig is a very good and tough team, led by the likes of Bailey Helzer and others.

The Wolverines are going to need to be on their game to have a chance in this one.

I think this match ultimately hinges on which BRLD team shows up.

If BRLD plays the way they did on Thursday and Monday they figure to have a chance in this one.

But if the Wolverines have a match like they did against the Jaguars, and don't bring their best, then it could be another tough night.

I think BRLD is still trying to find consistency in their play.

I feel like the Wolverines have done some nice things this year, but have been a little inconsistent at times.

So BRLD has to find a way to be consistent on a nightly basis, and I feel if they can do that it will make all the difference.

Oakland-Craig beats GACC in five sets; wins Tekamah-Herman Triangular

The Oakland-Craig Volleyball Team won 3-2 at GACC Thursday night before defeating Stanton 2-0 and Tekamah-Herman 2-1 at the Tekamah-Herman Triangular Tuesday night.

The Bluejays won set one 25-16 and set two 25-22 before the Knights took set three 25-18, set four 25-14, and set five 15-9.

Bailey Helzer poured in 30 kills and 26 digs while Ashten Rennerfeldt totaled 12 kills and 15 digs. Josie Richards added 14 digs and 49 assists while Shea Johnson, Maycie Johnson, and Laryn Johnson notched 12, 11, and 9 digs, respectively.

Oakland-Craig topped the Mustangs 25-18 in set one and 25-16 in set two.

The Tigers won set one 25-17 before the Knights won sets two and three 25-17.

What a great comeback on Thursday by Oakland-Craig, who continues to roll.

The Knights (13-3) host BRLD (14-8) Thursday night.

The Wolverines lost 2-1 to Wisner-Pilger and 2-0 to Howells-Dodge at the Wisner-Pilger Double Triangular Tuesday night.

Two tough losses to good teams, but Oakland-Craig is even better than the Gators and Jaguars.

So I would say BRLD has a big challenge on their hands come Thursday night.

That's welcoming news for the Knights, who are 7-2 in their last 9 matches.

Oakland-Craig has been a model for consistency this entire season, and has done some really nice things.

The Knights have to keep it up and must keep fighting and working to improve and get better each and everyday.

Oakland-Craig has a lot of big goals on their mind for how they want this season to wind up I'm sure so it's important for the Knights to keep winning.

I think Oakland-Craig showed they can win any match from any deficit with their win over GACC Thursday night.

That was an incredible comeback for the Knights, who are having a dream season, and look to continue that dream season come Thursday night against the Wolverines.

GACC loses to Oakland-Craig, defeats Bishop Neumann in 5 sets

The GACC Volleyball Team lost 3-2 at home to Oakland-Craig Thursday night before beating Bishop Neumann 3-2 at home Tuesday night.

The Bluejays took set from the Knights 25-16, and set two 25-22 before losing set three 25-18, set four 25-14, and set five 15-9.

Sophia Hass had 17 kills and 25 digs while Taylor Timmerman posted 7 kills. Megan Plagge added 17 digs and 29 assists while Isabel Hass and Erica Engelmeyer registered 16 and 13 digs, respectively. Kelsy Steffen chipped in 8.

The Cavaliers won sets one and two 25-19 before the Bluejays took set three 25-21, set four 25-19, and set five 15-13.

Sophia Hass totaled 17 kills and 22 digs while Greta Wooldrik tallied 8 kills. Engelmeyer posted 35 digs while Plagge compiled 29 digs and 34 assists. Isabel Hass recorded 22 digs while Steffen contributed 15.

Great, gutsy win for GACC Tuesday night, especially after losing a tough one on Thursday. The Bluejays turned the tables on Neumann so to speak.

GACC (8-6) plays host to Hartington Cedar Catholic (11-10) Thursday night.

The Trojans defeated Battle Creek 3-1 at home Tuesday night.

Cedar Catholic is a better team than their record would indicate.

I look for this match to go at least 4 sets if not 5.

I definitely feel like the Bluejays can win, but it will be interesting to see how GACC responds coming off an emotional win over Neumann Tuesday night.

The Bluejays have to come prepared and ready to play come Thursday night.

GACC can't afford to be complacent and satisfied when they take the floor against Cedar Catholic Thursday night.

The Bluejays have to be hungry and motivated, and have to want more.

GACC has to go out there and light things up from start to finish, and play a great match.

It will be interesting to see what happens come Thursday night.

I feel either team has a good shot of winning this match in 4 sets so we will see what happens.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder 0-3 in last three matches

The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Volleyball Team fell 2-0 to West Point-Beemer and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family at the H/LHF Triangular last Tuesday night before losing 3-0 at Howells-Dodge on Saturday in a makeup game.

The Bulldogs won set one 26-24 and set two 25-23.

Dream Daugherty had 11 kills and 11 digs while Grace Schlueter posted 7 kills. Karlie Hansen added 9 digs while Stormy Poast notched 8. Leah Keithley registered 7 digs and 20 assists.

The Cadets took the opening set 25-17, and the 2nd set 25-20.

Daugherty finished with 7 kills while Keithley notched 11 assists.

The Jaguars took set one 25-16, set two 25-9, and set three 25-17.

Miranda Batenhorst finished with 8 assists.

I thought the Raiders fought and competed hard last Tuesday.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (5-14) plays host to Louisville (4-13) Thursday night.

The Lions went 1-2 at their home Invite on Saturday, losing 2-0 to Omaha Mercy, and 2-1 to Cedar Bluffs, but beating Omaha Brownell Talbot 2-0.

This should be an interesting match.

I think everything sort of hinges on which team shows up for both teams.

If the Raiders bring their A game and Louisville brings their best too then it should be a great match.

If both teams are off their game then it should still be a good match.

But if one team is on and the other is off is when this match could be a quick one.

I don't feel that will be the case though.

I feel this is a pretty equal and even match, and I look for both teams to really get after one another.

I think LVSS has the advantage being at home and everything.

It's a bit of a road trip for Louisville, and the two teams are kind of new to each other with the Raiders joining the Capitol Conference and everything.

It will be interesting to see how the teams feel one another out and adjust and adapt to one another.

I think both teams will play well and have periods of struggle, all in the same match, making things pretty even in the end.

I think this match could go 5 sets.

Wisner-Pilger splits Crofton Triangular; goes 1-2 at home September Classic

The Wisner-Pilger Volleyball Team went 1-1 at the Crofton Triangular Thursday night, losing 2-0 to Battle Creek, but beating the host Warriors 2-1.

The Gators then lost 2-0 to Humphrey St. Francis and 2-1 to Chambers/Wheeler Central before beating Pierce 2-1 at the Wisner-Pilger September Classic on Saturday.

The Bravettes took sets one and two 25-23.

Emily Buhrman had 11 digs while Reagan Scholting and Joslyn Jacobs notched 7 apiece. Cameryn Bellar and Adi Meyer totaled 8 assists each.

The Warriors won set one 25-17 before Wisner-Pilger took set two 25-18 and set three 25-15.

Buhrman totaled 11 digs while Meyer registered 9 digs and 12 assists. Bellar added 11 assists.

The Flyers won set one 25-16 and set two 25-17.

Lily Otten posted 8 kills while Meyer compiled 11 assists.

The Renegades won set one 25-19 and set three 25-22 after losing set two 25-22.

Jacobs had 7 kills while Scholting and Lindsey Kneifl notched 10 and 8 digs, respectively. Meyer poured in 7 digs and 13 assists while Buhrman tallied 7 digs, and Bellar 10 assists.

The Bluejays won set one 25-19 before the Gators took set two 25-16 and set three 25-21.

Buhrman posted 8 kills and 8 digs while Otten recorded 8 kills. Kneifl added 7 kills and 11 digs while Scholting contributed 7 digs. Meyer dished out 20 assists while Bellar chipped in 14.

I thought Wisner-Pilger played some tough Volleyball on Thursday and Saturday.

The Gators (8-8) host Madison (1-12) and BRLD (13-6) in a Home Double Triangular Tuesday night.

The Dragons lost 2-0 to Pierce, Humphrey St. Francis, and Homer at Saturday's Classic while the Wolverines swept Tri County Northeast 3-0 on the road Thursday night.

BRLD beat the Gators 2-0 at the Northeast Nebraska Classic in Wisner on September 3rd.

Both teams are playing well right now so that should be one heck of a match.

Wisner-Pilger shouldn't have much trouble beating Madison I wouldn't think.

I feel like the Gators have a chance to knock off the Wolverines, but it won't be easy.

Wisner-Pilger has played a lot of matches lately, and BRLD is a little more rested I feel.

Not that that means everything, but I think the Wolverines could be the fresher team come Tuesday evening.

I'm sure these girls are just glad they are playing though.

So with that said, the Gators have to go out there and make the most of things come Tuesday night.

Wisner-Pilger has to play their hearts out and leave it all out on the floor.

The Gators have tough minded and have to want it more than the Dragons and Wolverines.

Tekamah-Herman goes 0-2 at own Invite; beats Madison

The Tekamah-Herman Volleyball Team lost 2-1 to BRLD and 2-0 Omaha Roncalli at their own Invite on Saturday before sweeping Madison 3-0 on the road Tuesday night.

The Tigers took set one from the Wolverines 25-20 before losing set two 25-18 and set three 25-13.

The Crimson Pride defeated Tekamah-Herman 25-18 in set one and 25-20 in set two.

The Tigers downed the Dragons 25-14 in set one, and 25-16 in sets two and three.

I thought Tekamah-Herman competed very well in all three matches.

The Tigers (4-11) take on Stanton (4-13) and Oakland-Craig (10-3) at their home Triangular Tuesday night.

The Mustangs lost 2-0 to Wisner-Pilger and 2-1 to Pender at their Home Triangular this past Tuesday night.

The Knights won 3-2 at GACC Thursday night.

I fully expect Tekamah-Herman to come out ready to go Tuesday night.

I think the Tigers can beat Stanton and compete well against Oakland-Craig.

The Knights are an exceptionally talented team, and will be tough to beat, but Tekamah-Herman can't back down from them or the Mustangs for that matter.

The Tigers are improving and getting better, and have to go out there and slug with both teams Tuesday night.

Tekamah-Herman has to play with a chip on their shoulder as well.

The Tigers have to continue to be scrappy and gritty, and must go out there and fight and claw and earn their points.

This is a big opportunity for Tekamah-Herman so the Tigers have to go out there and do well and not let the opportunity go by the wayside.

Tekamah-Herman has to look at this Triangular as an opportunity to succeed, improve, do well, and get better.

Stanton goes 1-2 at own Tournament; goes 0-2 in Home Triangular

The Stanton Volleyball Team lost 2-0 to Crofton and Clarkson/Leigh, but beat Arlington 2-1 at their own Tournament on Saturday before falling 2-0 to Wisner-Pilger and 2-1 to Pender at their home Triangular Tuesday night.

The Mustangs lost set one 25-18 and set two 25-20 to the Patriots.

Bridgett Jensen had 9 assists.

The Eagles took set one 25-19 before Stanton won set two 25-18 and set three 25-21.

Sylvia Cunningham and Ellie Locke each had 11 kills while Kinley Pohlman had 9 digs. Cunningham chipped in 8 digs while Jensen and Olivia Cunningham totaled 18 and 10 assists, respectively.

The Mustangs beat the Warriors 25-20 in set one and 25-18 in set two.

Haylea Nelson had 9 digs.

Stanton lost set one 25-19 and set two 25-17 to the Gators.

The Pendragons won set one 25-17 and set three 25-21 after losing set two 25-22.

I thought the Mustangs competed well in every match.

Stanton (4-13) takes on Tekamah-Herman (4-11) and Oakland-Craig (10-3) at the Tekamah-Herman Triangular Tuesday night.

The Tigers won 3-0 at Madison Tuesday night while the Knights won 3-2 at GACC Thursday night.

O-C is the clear cut favorite to win this Triangular, but the match between the Mustangs and Tekamah-Herman looks to be pretty evenly matched.

You might give the Tigers the advantage since they're at home, but anything can happen.

Stanton has to go in there ready to compete and play hard and well.

The Mustangs have to be confident, and have to go out there and give it their all.

Stanton has to be tenacious with their attack, and must make both teams earn their points.

The Mustangs can't back down from either team, and have to get pumped up come Tuesday night.

Stanton has to play with lots of pride and toughness and grit and go out there and play good Volleyball the entire night.

Clarkson/Leigh wins home Triangular; goes 2-1 at Stanton Tournament

The Clarkson/Leigh Volleyball Team won their home Triangular over High Plains and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family last Thursday night, defeating both teams 2-0. The Patriots then beat Hartington Cedar Catholic and Stanton 2-0, but lost 2-0 to Battle Creek at the Stanton Tournament on Saturday.

The Patriots defeated the Storm 25-13 in set one and 25-11 in set two.

Kennedy Settje had 10 digs while Chloe Hanel totaled 8. Makenna Held added 18 assists.

Clarkson/Leigh downed the Bulldogs 25-11 in set one and 25-18 in set two.

Cassidy Hoffman had 14 kills while Hanel notched 7. Held dished out 29 assists.

The Patriots topped the Mustangs 25-18 in set one and 25-20 in set two.

Hanel had 10 kills while Held registered 19 assists.

Clarkson/Leigh topped the Trojans 25-23 in set one and 25-17 in set two.

Hoffman and Hanel each had 9 kills while Bailey Lemburg notched 7 digs. Held chipped in 24 assists.

The Bravettes took set one 25-21 and set two 25-20.

Kayden Schumacher had 8 digs while Lemburg posted 7. Held recorded 14 assists.

Continued great play from Clarkson/Leigh. Two close set losses to Battle Creek, and while you never want to lose, I feel there are many positives to take away from a loss like that, especially with it being the first loss of the season for the Patriots.

Clarkson/Leigh (9-1) takes part in the Hampton Invite on Saturday.

The Patriots play Silver Lake at 10:00 a.m., and Mead at 12:30 p.m.

Clarkson/Leigh will have one more game after that at either 1:45 or 3:00 p.m.

I think the Patriots have a chance to do really well in and win this Tournament.

Both the Mustangs and Raiders are good, quality tough teams, but I don't feel either one of them plays the caliber of competition that Clarkson/Leigh does.

The Patriots have to go out there and be ready to play and really want it come Saturday.

Clarkson/Leigh can definitely win this Tournament as they can do anything they put their mind to.

The Patriots have to get a good night's rest and be energetic and excited and full of energy come Saturday morning.

Clarkson/Leigh has to continue to play the type of great Volleyball they have all season long.

The Patriots have to remain calm when things get tough, and be the tougher team.

Clarkson/Leigh has to be physically and mentally tougher than the rest of the field.

The Patriots have to go out there and get it on Saturday, and play superb Volleyball.

Go get em Clarkson/Leigh!

North Bend Central loses to Wisner-Pilger and West Point-Beemer

The North Bend Central Volleyball Team fell 3-0 at Wisner-Pilger last Thursday night before losing 3-0 at West Point-Beemer this past Thursday night.

The Tigers lost set one 25-15, set two 25-21, and set three 25-22 to the Gators.

NBC fell 25-17, 25-23, and 25-19 to the Cadets.

The Tigers definitely struggled in both matches.

North Bend Central (8-6) takes part in the David City Invite on Saturday.

The Tigers play Shelby-Rising City, David City, David City Aquinas, and Central City.

Sounds like wins and success to me.

I wouldn't be surprised in NBC went 4-0 in and won this Tournament.

The Tigers have stumbled a little bit lately, but I feel this is the tournament for North Bend Central to get back on track with.

The Tigers want to be playing their best Volleyball come Thursday's road match at Malcolm.

That's a huge game, and North Bend Central has to play well on Saturday and on Tuesday against Twin River if that match is played in order to get ready for the Clippers.

I feel like the Tigers will play and do well and find and have success come Saturday.

West Point-Beemer 4-0 in last four matches

The West Point-Beemer Volleyball Team swept Madison 3-0 at home last Thursday night before beating Logan View/Scribner-Snyder 2-0 and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family 2-1 at the Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family Triangular Tuesday night. The Cadets then swept North Bend Central 3-0 at home this past Thursday night.

The Cadets downed the Dragons 25-5, 25-11, and 25-13.

Jadyn Meiergerd and Katie Rainforth each had 8 kills while Reece Snodgrass posted 22 assists.

West Point-Beemer defeated the Raiders 25-17 in set one and 25-20 in set two.

Rachel Groth had 11 kills while Meiergerd totaled 7. Brooklyn Weddle added 12 digs while Snodgrass compiled 22 assists.

The Cadets knocked off the Bulldogs 25-18 in set one and 25-20 in set three after losing set two 25-20.

Sidney Swanson had 13 kills and 8 digs while Groth notched 9 kills. Meiergerd contributed 7 kills and 7 digs with Weddle amassing 15 digs. Snodgrass chipped in 11 digs and dished out 25 assists while Rainforth registered 11 digs.

West Point-Beemer won set one 25-17, set two 25-23, and set three 25-19 over the Tigers.

Swanson led the way with 15 kills and 9 digs while Meiergerd had 11 kills. Groth added 7 kills while Weddle chipped in 16 digs. Snodgrass registered 33 assists.

The Cadets continue to have a season to remember.

West Point-Beemer (13-3) takes part in the Elkhorn Valley Tournament in Tilden on Saturday.

The Cadets will face Battle Creek at 9:00 a.m., Fremont Bergan at noon, Osmond at 1:00 p.m., and have a crossover game at either 3:00 or 4:00 p.m.

The Bravettes come in at 14-1 on the season, and that should be a heck of a match right off the bat.

The Knights are very good too, and so this tournament will really challenge West Point-Beemer I feel.

Battle Creek being so close to Tilden is an advantage for the Bravettes I feel.

The Cadets have won 8 in a row and are rolling right now though.

West Point-Beemer is definitely going to be challenged in this Tournament, but I feel the Cadets will be up to and ready for the challenge.

It will be interesting to see what happens on Saturday.

It should be a great tournament.

St. Paul is in the other pool and they are undefeated so it will be interesting to see if they make the Championship and/or if West Point-Beemer plays them.

Tri County Northeast drops home match to Laurel-Concord-Coleridge

The Tri County Northeast Volleyball Team fell 3-1 at home to Laurel-Concord-Coleridge last Tuesday night.

The Bears won set one 25-21 and set two 25-22 before the Wolfpack took set three 25-22. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge closed out the match with a 25-22 set four win.

Alli Jackson had 17 kills and 11 digs while Jordyn Carr totaled 15 kills and 12 digs. Getsemane Ferrusca totaled 16 digs while Carly Dickens recorded 34 assists.

Solid effort from Tri County Northeast Tuesday night, it just wasn't enough.

The Wolfpack (2-6) takes on BRLD (12-6) Thursday night.

The Wolverines beat Ponca 3-1 at home Tuesday night.

Tri County Northeast only fell 2-1 to the Indians so we'll see what the Wolfpack does come Thursday night.

I feel like Tri County Northeast started the season off strong, but has struggled ever since.

The Wolfpack needs to raise their level of play and get things back on track.

Tri County Northeast is getting big contributions across the board from everyone, but it just hasn't yielded many wins as of late.

I know COVID-19 has really complicated things, but the Wolfpack has to continue to fight and battle and get better.

I feel like Tri County Northeast is a good, solid team too, they just need something to spark a run.

The schedule has its challenges the rest of the way, but the Wolfpack can still win some matches and do some damage this season yet.

Winnebago has cancelled all of their matches through October 1st due to the coronavirus pandemic, which is too bad for Tri County Northeast because that could of been another win for the Wolfpack on Thursday.

Instead the Indians will not be taking part in the Triangular and it will just be BRLD.

The Wolfpack has to make the most of it, and must go out there and give things their best shot Thursday night.

BRLD goes 2-0 at Tekamah-Herman Invite, beats Ponca

The BRLD Volleyball Team won 2-1 over Tekamah-Herman and swept Omaha Roncalli 2-0 at the Tekamah-Herman Invite on Saturday before winning 3-1 at home over Ponca Tuesday night.

The Tigers won set one against the Wolverines 25-20 before BRLD won set two 25-18 and set three 25-13.

Alexzi Nottleman had 9 kills and 7 digs while Caragan Tietz totaled 10 kills and 10 digs. Audra Nolting added 7 blocks while Aubrey Berg posted 11 digs. Kinlee Bacon recorded 10 digs and 12 assists while Brooklyn Nolting contributed 10 assists.

The Wolverines beat the Crimson Pride 25-23 in set one and 25-21 in set two.

Nottleman had 7 kills while Tietz and Grace Johnson chipped in 10 and 8 blocks, respectively. Bella Bonneau and Berg each had 7 digs while Bacon registered 10 assists.

The Wolverines defeated the Indians 25-22 in set one and 25-20 in set two before winning set four 25-22 after losing set three 26-24.

Great play from BRLD in their last three matches.

The Wolverines (12-6) take on Tri County Northeast (2-6) Thursday night.

The Wolfpack fell 3-1 at home to Laurel-Concord-Coleridge last Tuesday night.

This was supposed to be a Triangular with Winnebago, but the Indians cancelled all their matches through October 1st due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

This should be a sweep for BRLD.

The Wolverines are playing really good Volleyball right now, and I look for BRLD to dominate once again Thursday night.

The Wolverines have some tough matches on the horizon so BRLD has caught fire at the right time.

The Wolverines have to keep things going and keep the ball rolling against Tri County Northeast Thursday night and Omaha Nation Monday night before matches with Wisner-Pilger and Howells-Dodge Tuesday night, and Oakland-Craig next Thursday night.

Howells-Dodge swept at home by Lutheran High Northeast

The Howells-Dodge Volleyball Team fell 3-0 at home to undefeated Lutheran High Northeast Tuesday night.

The Eagles took set one 25-21, set two 25-17, and set three 25-11.

Grace Baumert had 7 kills and 7 digs while Ellie Baumert notched 7 digs and 16 assists.

LHNE is simply a great team.

The Jaguars (8-3) take on Pender (5-7) and Cedar Bluffs (8-2) at the Pender Triangular Thursday night.

The Pendragons lost 2-0 to Wisner-Pilger, but beat Stanton 2-1 at the Stanton Triangular Tuesday night.

The Wildcats on the other hand swept St. Edward 3-0 at home Thursday night.

Howells-Dodge swept Pender 2-0 in another triangular in Pender a couple of weeks back.

The Pendragons are playing better Volleyball now then they were then though so Pender figures to be tough.

Cedar Bluffs has had a favorable schedule, and I look for the Jaguars to be able to beat them.

I think Howells-Dodge will win this Triangular.

The Baumert transfers stand out for this Jaguar squad.

Pender and Cedar Bluffs are having nice seasons, but I think Howells-Dodge is a few steps ahead of them.

And you know the Jaguars will want to respond well following the loss to the Eagles.

Howells-Dodge simply has to go out there and play their game come Thursday night.

Play together as one, and be tough as nails.

Pender 2-1 in last three matches

The Pender Volleyball Team won 3-1 at Wakefield Thursday night before losing 2-0 to Wisner-Pilger, but beating Stanton 2-1 at the Stanton Triangular Tuesday night.

The Pendragons took set one from the Gators 25-13 before losing set two 25-15. Pender won set three 25-23 and set four 25-13.

Ashley Ostrand had 13 kills and 29 digs while Olyvia Nelson posted 9 kills and 19 digs. Alyssa Geisert totaled 7 kills while Zoey Lehmkuhl registered 7 kills, 14 digs, and 29 assists. Caitlyn Heise and Kirsten Frey notched 11 digs apiece while Brieann Bruns chipped in 10.

The Gators downed the Pendragons 25-10 in set one and 25-17 in set two.

Pender beat the Mustangs 25-17 in set one, and 25-21 in set three after losing set two 25-22.

Good play from Pender over their last three matches. The Pendragons are playing good Volleyball as of late.

Pender (5-7) hosts Cedar Bluffs (8-2) and Howells-Dodge (8-3) in a Triangular Thursday night.

The Wildcats won 3-0 at home over St. Edward last week while the Jaguars fell 3-0 at home to Lutheran High Northeast Tuesday night.

Cedar Bluffs may be 8-2, but the Wildcats haven't played nearly the caliber of teams and schedule that Pender has.

The Jaguars are legit, but I feel like the Pendragons have a good chance to get Cedar Bluffs.

You never want to settle for a split in a Triangular, but if that's what Pender gets in this Triangular I think they will take it.

Lots of opportunities for wins coming up for the Pendragons so Pender has to keep the ball rolling and playing well.

Ostrand needs to continue to play great and lead this team, and so does Lehmkuhl.

They are the two most experienced players on this team, and it feels like they have been around forever.

I think the Pendragons are playing their best Volleyball of the season right now, and are a team that no one wants to face.

It seems like Pender has stepped up their game since losing to Clarkson/Leigh.

We'll see if the Pendragons can continue their winning ways Thursday night.

Wisner-Pilger sweeps North Bend Central, Stanton Triangular

The Wisner-Pilger Volleyball Team has gotten their season on track, sweeping North Bend Central 3-0 at home Thursday night before winning 2-0 over Stanton and Pender at the Stanton Triangular Tuesday night.

The Gators beat the Tigers 25-15, 25-21, and 25-22.

Emily Buhrman had 11 kills and 7 digs while Lindsey Kneifl totaled 9 kills and 8 digs. Reagan Scholting and Lily Otten registered 8 and 7 kills, respectively. Adi Meyer had 24 assists while Cameryn Bellar totaled 17.

Wisner-Pilger topped the Mustangs 25-19 in set one and 25-17 in set two.

Kneifl had 7 digs while Bellar and Meyer recorded 15 and 11 assists, respectively.

The Gators beat the Pendragons 25-10 in set one and 25-17 in set two.

Buhrman and Otten each had 7 kills while Joslyn Jacobs posted 10 digs. Scholting added 7 digs while Meyer compiled 18 assists.

Very impressive play from Wisner-Pilger as of late.

The Gators (6-5) take on Battle Creek (12-1) and Crofton (7-7) at the Crofton Triangular Thursday night.

The Bravettes beat Neligh-Oakdale 3-0 Tuesday night while the Warriors beat Laurel-Concord-Coleridge 3-1 at home Tuesday night.

Both teams are solid, and Wisner-Pilger is going to need to be able to play very well in order to be successful.

I think the Gators have a chance to win both matches and win this Triangular given the way they are playing right now.

I feel like Battle Creek will be the tougher of the two matches though.

Wisner-Pilger has to go up there ready to compete and play well.

I think the Gators will do just that, and go on to have a fine and fantastic Triangular.

I feel like balanced offensive production has made all the difference for Wisner-Pilger as of late.

The Gators have to continue to get that and have to keep playing and performing well.

I look for Wisner-Pilger to continue to get that too, and for the Gators to keep playing at a very high level.

Anything can happen in this Triangular, and if I'm the Bravettes and Warriors I'm not so sure I want to see Wisner-Pilger right now.

Oakland-Craig falls at home to Wahoo

Wahoo remained undefeated on the season when they swept Oakland-Craig in three sets in high school volleyball from Oakland aired on 107.9 The Bull Thursday night, Sept. 17.

The Warriors won the match 25-16, 25-23, 25-23.

Bailey Helzer had 20 kills and 7 digs while Laryn Johnson notched 9 digs. Josie Richards added 28 assists.

Great effort from the Knights, they just came up a little short.

Oakland-Craig (9-3) travels to GACC to take on the Bluejays (7-5) Thursday night.

The Bluejays swept Homer 3-0 at home Tuesday night.

GACC figures to be a very tough and formidable foe as the Bluejays are 4-1 in their last five matches.

GACC has really come on as of late, and is doing great, extraordinary, and outstanding things.

I look for this match to be really good, and perhaps even go five sets.

But the Knights have a player in Helzer, who is a very special Volleyball player.

She had a great match against the Warriors, and I look for her to play very well again against the Bluejays.

She is the leader for Oakland-Craig and really makes the Knights go.

You can bet GACC will throw everything they can at her to stop her, so she will have to be ready to roll for sure.

Helzer can definitely have another big match though, and I feel like if she does that may carry the Knights past the Bluejays in say five sets.

Should be a great match for sure come Thursday night.

GACC beats O'Neill and Homer

The Guardian Angels Central Catholic Volleyball Team won 3-1 at home over O'Neill Thursday night before sweeping Homer 3-0 at home Tuesday night.

The Bluejays took set one from the Eagles 25-20. O'Neill won set two 25-21 before GACC won set three 25-19 and set four 25-16.

Sophia Hass had 21 kills and 16 digs while Taylor Timmerman and Andie Guenther added 10 and 8 kills, respectively. Isabel Hass totaled 26 digs while Megan Plagge registered 17 digs and 37 assists. Erica Engelmeyer tallied 13 digs while Kelsy Steffen notched 9.

The Bluejays downed the Knights 25-10 in set one, 25-13 in set two, and 25-21 in set three.

Sophia Hass totaled 14 kills and 9 digs while Greta Wooldrik and Timmerman registered 9 and 7 kills, respectively. Isabel Hass chipped in 14 digs while Steffen posted 11. Engelmeyer totaled 7 while Plagge recorded 32 assists.

Two really nice wins for GACC.

The Bluejays (7-5) host Oakland-Craig (9-3) Thursday night.

The Knights lost 3-0 at home to Wahoo on Thursday of last week.

Oakland-Craig is a very good team that competed well against the Warriors I thought.

GACC is a really good team in their own right though, and something has to give in this match.

The Bluejays have been playing their best Volleyball in the last two weeks so this should be a highly entertaining and interesting match.

I feel this match will be a great one, and could perhaps even go five sets.

GACC has to try and contain and stop and slow down Bailey Helzer.

The Animal of the Week really makes the Knights go, and she is definitely the leader for Oakland-Craig.

The Bluejays get the Knights at their house though, and so this should be a great match for sure.

I feel things could go either way given the way GACC is playing right now, but Oakland-Craig is going to be very tough there's no doubt about that.

These are the kind of matches the Bluejays want to play though.
