Winnebago falls to Wakefield

The Winnebago Indians fell 2-0 to Wakefield at their home Triangular Thursday night.

The Trojans won set one 25-13, and took set two 25-10.

I thought the Indians could be more competitive, but they just couldn't get it going against Wakefield.

Winnebago gets ready for the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament, which begins on Saturday.

The Indians take on Bloomfield (2-19) in Wynot.

The Bees lost 2-0 to Madison and Elkhorn Valley at the Bloomfield Triangular on Thursday.

Winnebago should be able to knock off Bloomfield, but Wynot awaits the winner.

The most important thing for the Indians is to play a clean, flawless match against the Bees in order to prepare for the difficult match with the Blue Devils.

Winnebago definitely has a tall task in front of them, but if the Indians can play a good match against Bloomfield, they may have a chance to be competitive against Wynot.

We're getting to that time of year where anything can happen and upsets occur so Winnebago has to play optimistic Volleyball, and believe they can play the role of spoiler.

It has been a tough season so far for the Indians without a doubt, but perhaps Winnebago can make some noise in this conference tournament.

It's never too late for a team to get things going, and I think the Indians are capable of winning a few matches in this conference tournament.

Winnebago is going to have to play a lot better than they did against Wakefield, but the Indians are definitely capable of doing that.

Winnebago simply has to learn how to win away from home.

The Indians only have one win on the road or at neutral sites so that has to change for Winnebago if they want to be successful in this tournament.

The Indians have to be up to the challenge of competing at a high level if they want to do well Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday.

It would be a big deal for Winnebago to find success in this tournament and get their season on track.

It's one of the Indians' last chances to get things going so it's important for Winnebago to do well and play at a high level in this tournament.

With sub districts right around the corner now is the time to start playing well if you are the Winnebago Indians.

First serve between Winnebago and Bloomfield is set for 2:00 p.m.
