Scribner-Snyder falls to Stanton and West Point-Beemer
The Scribner-Snyder Trojans lost 2-0 to Stanton and West Point-Beemer at their home Triangular on Tuesday.
The Mustangs downed the Trojans 25-17 in the first set, and 25-18 in the second set.
Mackenzy Schreck totaled 11 digs while Nicole Boyle had 8 set assists.
The Cadets beat Scribner-Snyder 25-20 in set one, and 25-16 in set two.
Boyle dished out 16 set assists.
I thought the Trojans competed fairly well against both squads despite the losses.
Scribner-Snyder (6-13) takes on Wisner-Pilger (12-10) in the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament in Stanton on Thursday.
The Gators lost 3-1 at Tekamah-Herman Tuesday night.
The Trojans have to play optimistic volleyball and believe they can knock off Wisner-Pilger.
Scribner-Snyder has dropped five in a row, but anything can happen in the game of volleyball, especially this time of year.
The Trojans have to believe they have a shot at the upset.
Tekamah-Herman did it so Scribner-Snyder certainly can too.
The Trojans have to keep fighting and must continue to persevere no matter what happens throughout the match.
Things may not go Scribner-Snyder's way the whole time so the Trojans have to weather any storms the Gators throw their way, and must be ready to counter with runs of their own if Wisner-Pilger goes on scoring runs.
Scribner-Snyder has to be mentally and physically tough, and must try and slow down Jayda Oligmueller, Maci Batenhorst, and Jordan Wegner.
Those three do the most damage for the Gators so the Trojans have to focus their efforts on those them, and try and force other players to beat them.
Scribner-Snyder has to play loose and inspired. The Trojans really have nothing to lose in this match. All the pressure should be on Wisner-Pilger.
Scribner-Snyder has to give it their best shot and see what they can do on Thursday.
I don't see the Trojans doing worse than 1-1, regardless of the outcome of the match with the Gators.
