BRLD goes 3-1 at East Husker Conference Tournament

The Bancroft-Rosalie-Lyons-Decatur Wolverines finished 3-1 at the East Husker Conference Tournament, defeating Logan View and losing 2-0 to West Point-Beemer at Howells-Dodge on Thursday, and topping Scribner-Snyder and Tekamah-Herman 2-0 on Saturday in Wisner.

The Wolverines defeated the Raiders 25-13 in the first set, and 25-14 in the second set.

BRLD lost 25-18 in set one, and 25-21 in set two to West Point-Beemer.

The Wolverines downed the Tigers 25-18 in the first set, and 25-16 in the second set.

BRLD downed the Trojans 25-17 in set one, and 25-20 in set two.

The Wolverines played really good Volleyball in the EHC Tournament with the exception of the loss to West Point-Beemer.

BRLD (16-14) hosts Pender (10-14) Tuesday night.

The Pendragons went 1-3 at the EHC Tournament, beating Oakland-Craig 2-1, but losing 2-0 to Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family, and 2-1 to Tekamah-Herman and Scribner-Snyder.

The Wolverines beat Pender 2-1 in the Northeast Nebraska Classic earlier this season, and I would say BRLD is better now than they were then while the Pendragons might be about the same or not as good.

Pender has struggled recently, and I think the Wolverines are getting the Pendragons at a good time.

It's not going to be an easy match by any means, but I think if BRLD plays up to their capability, they can win.

The Wolverines could really use wins in their last two matches to finish the season out strong so this is an important match for BRLD.

The Wolverines have to play their game, and play the type of Volleyball they are capable of.

When this team is on they are on, and I think BRLD can still do some damage yet this season.

An 18-14 regular season would be a positive step in the right direction for this team, but the Wolverines have to continue to take things one match at a time and focus on the Pendragons.

Pender has some girls that can play so BRLD has to be ready to slow down everyone.

The Wolverines have some girls that can play too so BRLD needs to get all their heavy hitters going.

The Wolverines have to serve receive, pass, hit, and block well. Service and hitting errors need to be kept to a minimum.

The last thing BRLD wants to do is give away points.

The Wolverines have to limit unforced errors, and make the Pendragons earn their points.

I look for BRLD to be on top of their game and play a good match on Tuesday.

I think the Wolverines have a good shot to win because they are at home, but Pender cannot be counted out.
