North Bend Central defeats Stanton and Logan View in triangular
The North Bend Central Tigers knocked off Stanton 2-1 and Logan View 2-0 at their home Triangular on Tuesday.
The Tigers defeated the Raiders 25-8 in set one and 25-10 in set two.
North Bend Central took set one from the Mustangs 25-14, and won set three 25-17 after dropping set two 25-20.
What a great job the Tigers did on Tuesday. North Bend Central took care of business and played up to their capabilities, which is a really good sign.
The Tigers (24-2) host Madison (3-24) in the regular season finale Thursday night.
The Dragons won 2-0 over St. Edward, but lost 2-0 to Riverside at the Riverside Triangular on Tuesday.
Thursday night's meeting marks the first meeting of the season between the two teams.
I honestly don't see North Bend Central having much trouble with Madison at all.
It should be a quick match that ends in a sweep for the Tigers.
With it being the last ever home match for the seniors it would be a good chance to get all the seniors a good chunk of playing time.
This match and this night really is all about the seniors and what they have done for this program over the course of the last four years.
North Bend Central has accomplished so much this year and I feel the Tigers are primed and ready to make a run at state, but everyone needs to be on board with Thursday's plan and play well.
The underclassmen should be happy for their senior classmates, and cheer them on from the bench if they're a varsity player, or from the stands if they're just on JV or below.
This should be a very special night for all involved, and I look for North Bend Central to play a good match and take care of business the way they are capable of.
I'm sure emotions will be running high, especially at the beginning of the match, and I'm guessing that might affect the Tigers' play a little bit, but it shouldn't be anything North Bend Central can't overcome.
The Tigers are mature enough to be able to control and handle their emotions I would think, and should be able to mentally prepare themselves for how they are going to feel on Thursday.
What could be a very memorable postseason lies ahead for North Bend Central, and the Tigers need to continue to play well and enjoy the ride.
North Bend Central has to do their best to stay in the moment and not get too ahead of themselves because once things are over, they are over.
