Winnebago 3-1 in last four matches

The Winnebago Volleyball Team went 2-1 at the Winnebago Tournament on Saturday, defeating Walthill and Santee 2-0 before losing 2-1 to Omaha Nation. The Indians turned around and beat the Chiefs 3-1 in their house Tuesday night.

Winnebago topped the Warriors 25-19 in set one and 25-12 in set two.

Tia YellowThunder had 9 ace serves.

In round one against Omaha Nation, the Indians took set one 25-23 before losing set two 25-16 and set three 25-19.

Winnebago downed the Blujays 25-17 in the first set, and 25-16 in the second set.

Natasha Deal and Kiylista Harden notched 7 digs apiece.

In round two against the Chiefs, the Indians earned a 25-19 set one win and took set two 25-10. Omaha Nation won set three 25-21 before Winnebago closed things out with a 25-14 victory.

Kiana Lewis had 10 kills and 7 digs while Harden totaled 7 kills and 24 digs. YellowThunder registered 11 ace serves and 21 set assists while Jaidan Payer managed 11 ace serves and 9 blocks. Jean Parker-Morris chipped in 12 digs while Alex Neff had 9.

The Indians are really playing well and have come on lately. Winnebago should feel good about their progress so far this season.

The Indians (4-4) host Emerson-Hubbard (1-7) and BRLD (6-10) in a Triangular Thursday night.

The Wolverines went 2-1 at the Tekamah-Herman Invite on Saturday, beating Tekamah-Herman and Fort Calhoun 2-0 while losing 2-0 to Omaha Roncalli.

The Pirates were swept 3-0 at Ponca Tuesday night.

I think Winnebago will beat Emerson-Hubbard, but BRLD figures to be a very tough match for sure.

The Wolverines are so deep and so skilled defensively, and that's what makes them tough.

That and BRLD plays a tough schedule and in a tough conference in the East Husker.

The Indians may be able to compete with the Wolverines, but either way it is a tremendous opportunity for Winnebago.

The Indians haven't really beaten anybody this year, and a win over BRLD would be a huge deal no doubt.

Winnebago is building their program and getting better so I think the Indians could be more competitive than some think Thursday night.

Winnebago continues their string of home matches, and the Indians seem to excel at home.

It has the potential to be a very good night of Volleyball for Winnebago, in my opinion.

The Indians have to go out there and have fun and play their best and try their hardest.

Winnebago has to give things their best shot and see what happens.

Anything can happen in the game of Volleyball and upsets happen all the time so we will see what the Indians can do.

I look for Winnebago to go out there and play at a high level Thursday night, and give both teams their best shot.

I thought the Indians played real well against the Chiefs on Tuesday, and look for the momentum Winnebago gained in that match to carry over to Thursday night.

The Indians have nothing to lose, but everything to gain so Winnebago has to go out there and play great Thursday night and show both teams who they are and what they are made of.
