BRLD 2-4 in last six matches

The BRLD Volleyball Team is 2-4 in their last six matches, losing 2-0 to Hartington Cedar Catholic and Lutheran High Northeast at the Wakefield Invitational last Thursday, beating Homer 2-0 and Wakefield-Allen 2-1 before losing 2-0 to Ponca at the Invitational on Saturday, and then losing 3-0 at home to Fremont Bergan Tuesday night.

Cedar Catholic topped the Wolverines 25-9 in set one and 25-18 in set two.

Kelsey Larsen notched 7 blocks while Brandi Simonsen registered 11 digs.

The Eagles downed BRLD 25-14 in the first set, and 27-25 in the second set.

Simonsen had 18 digs while Halle Wortman recorded 7.

The Wolverines defeated Homer 25-22 in set one and 25-18 in set two.

Wortman totaled 8 kills while Larsen notched 12 blocks. Caragan Tietz posted 7 blocks and 14 set assists while Simonsen chipped in 13 digs.

BRLD lost set one to Wakefield-Allen 25-18 before taking set two 25-20 and set three 25-16.

Larsen amassed 15 blocks and 15 digs while Tori Ostrand had 11 blocks. Tietz added 7 blocks, 15 digs, and 11 set assists while Simonsen and Aubrey Berg registered 27 and 7 digs, respectively.

The Indians knocked off the Wolverines 25-18 in the first set, and 25-13 in the second set.

Simonsen compiled 15 digs while Larsen and Berg added 14 and 7, respectively.

Bergan handled BRLD 25-11 in set one, 25-10 in set two, and 25-9 in set three.

Larsen recorded 9 blocks and 17 digs while Alexzi Nottleman and Ostrand registered 8 blocks apiece. Simonsen chipped in 36 digs while Tietz, Wortman, and Berg notched 12, 9, and 7, respectively.

The Wolverines continue to be up and down. BRLD lost to a great Bergan team Tuesday night though.

The Wolverines (4-9) take on Tekamah-Herman (0-11), Fort Calhoun, and Omaha Roncalli at the Tekamah-Herman Invite on Saturday.

I feel this tournament is a great chance and opportunity for BRLD to pick up wins and have success.

None of the teams in this tournament have a winning record, and I feel this is a chance for the Wolverines to pick up some wins and bolster their resume.

If the Wolverines could go 3-0 or 2-1 and at least win a set in each match and be close in the ones they lose if they lose any, I feel that could be good momentum for BRLD.

The Wolverines are a very young team, and are a work in progress without a doubt.

BRLD needs to forget about what happened Tuesday night, and regroup and regather themselves for Saturday.

There's a lot of opportunity and potential for the Wolverines in this tournament I feel, and BRLD has to make the most of it.

The Wolverines have to continue their strong defensive play and pick things up offensively.

BRLD needs someone to step up and pick up the slack offensively.

Wortman needs to have more matches like she had against Homer from an offensive standpoint, and other players need to step up and contribute as well.

The Wolverines have been kind of stagnant lately I feel, and they need something to spark a run or winning streak.

BRLD could definitely get on the right track with a good showing in the tournament on Saturday.

The Wolverines can definitely play and do well, and find success too it just takes hard work, determination, sacrifice, a winning attitude, and a will to win.

BRLD has to come out expecting to win as opposed to just hoping to win or playing not to lose.

The Wolverines have to give all three teams on Saturday their best shot, and show each school what BRLD Volleyball is all about.

I look for the Wolverines to make strides and gains on Saturday regardless of their win/loss record.

The biggest thing for BRLD is to play the best Volleyball they have all season, and show improvement.

Winning generally goes along with that, and winning would be nice, there's no doubt about that.
