Emerson-Hubbard 0-3 in last 3 matches
The Emerson-Hubbard Volleyball Team is 0-3 in their last 3 matches, falling 2-0 to Randolph and Osmond at their home Triangular last Thursday night, and 3-0 at home against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Tuesday night.
The Tigers defeated the Pirates 25-14 in set one and 25-20 in set two.
Addison Mackling finished with 11 digs.
The Cardinals downed Emerson-Hubbard 25-10 in the first set, and 25-17 in the second set.
Isabella Parker-Diaz notched 10 digs while Madison Gunderson had 7.
The Bears earned a 25-8 set one win, took set two 26-24, and claimed set three 25-15.
Cashlyn Kramer totaled 25 digs while Stephanie Ferrusca and Mackling tallied 15 apiece. Gunderson added 14.
Difficult stretch of matches for the Pirates. Emerson-Hubbard has shown the ability to compete well in a set of each match, but winning matches has proven to be difficult for the Pirates so far this season.
Emerson-Hubbard (1-7) looks to get on track on Tuesday when they take on Ponca (7-3) on the road.
Ponca won 3-0 at Winnebago Tuesday night.
I don't know what the Pirates can do to upset Ponca, but if Emerson-Hubbard could take a set or at least make a couple of sets close as opposed to one I think that could serve as a moral victory.
The Pirates have to pick things up offensively though.
Hitting, passing, and serving all has to be on point for Emerson-Hubbard.
The Pirates also need to dig, serve receive, and block well.
It has to be a total complete team effort from start to finish for Emerson-Hubbard.
The Pirates can't be scared of or intimidated by the Indians whatsoever.
Ponca is a really good team there's no denying that, but anyone can be beaten on any given night, and that has to be on Emerson-Hubbard's mind.
It's tough playing teams up a couple of classes no doubt, but challenges are what you play and live for as a Volleyball player I would think.
That probably goes for any athlete in any sport though.
The Pirates have to come out and play hard and be on fire throughout the entire match if possible.
Emerson-Hubbard has to create a spark, some magic if you will.
The Pirates have to get some mojo on their side and do whatever they can to get this season headed in the right direction.
It has been a tough go of things for Emerson-Hubbard so far this season, but there's no doubt the Pirates can get back on track.
There's a lot of season left, and if the Pirates can create some breaks for themselves and continue to improve then they can do anything they put their minds to.
Emerson-Hubbard just has to stay the course and continue to right the ship.
The Pirates need to play well against Ponca so they can feel confident heading into the Winnebago Triangular against BRLD and the host Indians next Thursday.
