Tekamah-Herman goes 0-3 at own Invite, picks up first win of year over Madison

The Tekamah-Herman Volleyball Team lost 2-0 to BRLD and Omaha Roncalli, and 2-1 to Fort Calhoun at their own Invite on Saturday before knocking off Madison 3-1 on the road Tuesday night for their first win of the year.

The Wolverines won set one 25-12 and set two 25-15.

The Crimson Pride downed the Tigers 25-15 in the first set, and 25-14 in the second set.

The Pioneers won set one 25-17 and set three 25-11 while Tekamah-Herman won set two 25-18.

The Tigers took the first set against the Dragons 25-16 and the second set 25-21 while dropping the third set 25-21. Tekamah-Herman won the fourth set 25-20.

I thought the match against Fort Calhoun prompted better play for the Tigers against the Dragons, and it really showed Tuesday night.

Tekamah-Herman (1-14) battles Stanton (15-1) and Oakland-Craig (4-10) at the Stanton Triangular Tuesday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Mustangs swept Pender and Wisner-Pilger 2-0 at the Pender Triangular Tuesday night while the Knights beat Arlington 2-0, but lost 2-0 to GACC at their home Triangular Thursday night.

I think the Tigers have a good chance to compete with and beat Oakland-Craig.

Stanton is a great team, and I don't know what the Tigers can do against them having already lost to them once 2-0, but Tekamah-Herman has to go out there expecting to win and must give things their best shot.

I really think the Fort Calhoun match was a building block for the Tigers and led them to the win over Madison Thursday night.

Now I look for Tekamah-Herman to use the win over the Dragons as a springboard to more wins and success Tuesday night.

I really think the Tigers can beat the Knights as I feel Oakland-Craig is beatable and vulnerable.

I'm sure Tekamah-Herman wants to win both matches, but I'm sure the Tigers really want to beat the Knights more specifically.

I'm not saying Tekamah-Herman should put all their energy and focus into the Oakland-Craig match, but something tells me the Tigers are going to be up for that one.

I'm really excited to see what Tekamah-Herman's play of their past two matches leads to Tuesday night.

It appears some of these players have grown up before our eyes, and this team is gaining confidence and consistency.

The Tigers have to be optimistic and inspired Tuesday night.

Tekamah-Herman has to come out and play their best Volleyball of the season, and do everything possible to win both matches.

If the Tigers can beat the Knights and take a set or at least make a set close against the Mustangs I think Tekamah-Herman could take away quite a few positives in that case.

All the action can be heard on the Bull beginning at 5:30 p.m.

It should be a great night of Volleyball all the way around.
