Pender drops matches at Logan View/Scribner-Snyder and Wakefield-Allen

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder hosted Pender in varsity volleyball broadcast on 107.9 The Bull Tuesday night.

Pender came out strong early, winning the first set 25-18. Logan View/Scribner-Snyder rallied to take the second set 25-21.

The two teams recorded identical sets over the next two frames, with the Pendragons winning set three 25-23, and the Raiders taking set four 25-23.

In the deciding fifth set, LVSS was able to win in thrilling fashion, 17-15.

Shaylin Daugherty was the S&W Welding Player of the Game for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, and Sadie Lamplot received the award for Pender.

Lamplot had 14 kills and 10 digs for the Pendragons while Brittni Beckman totaled 12 kills. Ashley Ostrand registered 9 kills and 16 digs while Kaylin Sandall and Rylee Lehmkuhl recorded 13 digs apiece. Zoey Lehmkuhl registered 11 digs and 25 set assists.

Pender lost all three sets 25-18 at Wakefield-Allen Thursday night.

Sandall had 10 digs while Ostrand and Rylee Lehmkuhl notched 9 each. Zoey Lehmkuhl added 7 set assists.

I thought the Pendragons played great against the Raiders. I don't think Pender was quite over that loss when they played the Trojans.

The Pendragons (3-6) take on Wisner-Pilger (5-3) and Stanton at their home Triangular Tuesday night.

The Gators lost 3-1 at home to North Bend Central Tuesday night while Stanton swept Boone Central/Newman Grove and Norfolk Catholic 2-0 at their home Triangular Thursday night.

Pender definitely has their work cut out for them in this one there's no doubt about that.

I think a split is at least possible in this triangular though.

Wisner-Pilger has struggled in their past couple of matches, and if the Pendragons can play like they did against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder it might be good enough for a win over the Gators.

Pender has to regroup though. The Wakefield-Allen match was not the Pendragons' best effort there's no denying that.

Pender has to shake off what happened in that match, and come out and play good matches against Wisner-Pilger and Stanton.

The key against the Mustangs is trying to slow down Bree Burtwhistle and Jessie Brandl and co. without a doubt.

The Pendragons can't be afraid of or nervous against Stanton or Wisner-Pilger.

Pender has to be loose, confident, and energetic as opposed to tight.

The Pendragons have to put forth their best effort Tuesday night and see what happens.

This senior class and this team wants to change the culture and perception of Pender Volleyball, and this Triangular is a great chance for the Pendragons to make strides and gains and take steps in the right direction, in my opinion.

The Pendragons have to come out with tons of energy and need to take the fight to both teams.

Pender has to go all out and leave everything they have on the court.

The Pendragons have to play their brand of volleyball and play their hearts out.

Pender can't control what Wisner-Pilger and Stanton do, but the Pendragons can control what they do.

Pender has to play with tremendous pride and spirit as well.

The Pendragons need to bring their best effort in both of Tuesday night's matches.
