Overview:
The BRLD Volleyball Team looks to build off last year's success when they went 19-14 under first year Head Coaches Allie Tietz and Paige Raasch.
Coach Tietz and Coach Raasch say the team was able to overcome obstacles in the offseason. "There were challenges but the girls have been so awesome and cooperative given all of the obstacles they’ve had to face."
The Wolverines have 6 seniors back from last year and I'm sure BRLD is looking for big things this season.
Hopefully everything stays normal and we don't get shutdown by the coronavirus pandemic.
I'm really hopeful and optimistic that we will have and go through an entire season of High School Volleyball with not getting shutdown.
That is the hope and the dream and the goal anyway.
Hopefully we don't get shutdown because if we did it would really be too bad.
We're very fortunate and lucky in Nebraska to have the opportunity to have High School Sports though so we should feel pretty thankful and grateful about things and where we are at.
Let's just simply hope that things stay that way and don't get out of hand.
Season Outlook:
The BRLD Volleyball team looks and hopes for a big year.
Coach Tietz and Coach Raasch say the team has a lot of experience back from last year. "We have 6 seniors this year and all of them will bring something to the team. There are a lot of leaders on this team and they all have such great chemistry. We have a few other experienced girls returning that aren’t seniors and they add a lot to our team as well. Overall, we are really excited to get this season started and couldn’t ask for a better group of kids."
The two add they couldn't be more thrilled with the NSAA's Decision to move forward with Fall Sports. "We couldn’t be more thankful and excited to play. These girls deserve to have their season so we are hoping everyone stays healthy and we can get through the season!"
Let's certainly hope that we get through an entire season, especially after missing last Spring.
Tietz and Raach say the team has been working hard and chomping at the bit to get back out there and compete. "They are so excited. I think this has them working even harder considering any game could be their last. They’ve put a lot of effort in this preseason and leading up to these first games. We can’t wait to start regular season games!"
The Wolverines have a very difficult schedule, but I look for BRLD to go out there and compete hard and well this season.
The Wolverines open up the season at home against Tekamah-Herman on August 27th.
