Oakland-Craig loses at home to Scribner-Snyder

The Oakland-Craig Knights lost 3-1 at home to Scribner-Snyder Thursday night.

The Trojans took set one 26-24 and set two 25-23 before the Knights won set three 25-18. Scribner-Snyder closed out the match with a 25-20 win in set four.

Head Chelsey Quigley says her girls need to start out stronger. "We have that potential to come out and be strong. And I think if we met this team again we will have that urgency, and we will be able to come out strong. And we just need to get past that mental block of just coming out in a bit of a lull I guess I would say, and then having that sense or urgency right off the bat instead of waiting until it's too late."

Oakland-Craig (2-4) takes on BRLD (4-7) and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family (1-4) in the Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family Triangular on Tuesday.

The Wolverines went 2-3 at the Wakefield Tournament on Saturday, beating Homer and the host Trojans, but falling to Hartington Cedar Catholic, Pierce, and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.

The Bulldogs went 1-2 at the Friend Tournament on Saturday, defeating Lawrence-Nelson 2-0, but losing to Meridian and Friend.

Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family is a good team, they've just played a tough schedule. I would say the Bulldogs are a much better team than their record would indicate.

BRLD is a quality team too so the Knights have to be ready to go from the get go.

Oakland-Craig has to come out strong and play with a sense of urgency against both teams Tuesday night.

The Knights can't afford to come out in a mental lull, and struggle.

Oakland-Craig has to be sharp from the onset, and be ready to go to battle with both teams they play.

The Knights must come out and play well from start to finish in order to win. Oakland-Craig can't afford to play sluggish and struggle.

The Knights have to want it more than the Bulldogs and Wolverines. Oakland-Craig has to play with a burning passion that runs deep inside.

The Knights have to play with toughness, fire, tenacity, grit, and determination.

Oakland-Craig has to give it their all, and do everything in their power to win.

The Knights have to play their hardest the entire time, and let the winning take care of itself.
