Emerson-Hubbard 0-2 in last two matches
The Emerson-Hubbard Pirates lost 2-0 to Randolph and 2-1 to Osmond at the Osmond Triangular on Thursday.
The Cardinals downed the Pirates 25-17 in set one, and 25-18 in set two.
Emerson-Hubbard took set one from the Tigers, 25-19, only to see Osmond come back and win set two 25-18, and set three 25-14.
The Pirates are really struggling right now, but perhaps Emerson-Hubbard can get things going in their next match.
The Pirates (0-6) take on Laurel-Concord-Coleridge (1-6) at home Tuesday night.
The Bears picked up their first win of the season on Saturday, knocking off BRLD 2-1. Laurel-Concord Coleridge also lost twice on Saturday, falling 2-0 to Homer and Lutheran High Northeast at the Wakefield Tournament.
This is a match Emerson-Hubbard has to figure they have a shot at winning, although the Bears no doubt gained some confidence in their win over the Wolverines.
The match being in Emerson should help out the Pirates quite a bit I would think.
If Emerson-Hubbard can play the way they did against Osmond, and just learn to finish, they may be able to knock off Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.
The Pirates have two very winnable matches this week so I look at this week as a week for Emerson-Hubbard to grow and improve.
If the Pirates could win both of their matches this week that would be a big boost for this team. Just one win right now would be good too I would imagine.
This team is not quite as talented as last year's team as evident by how the season is going so far, but these girls have to continue to fight and believe.
Brighter days are ahead for Emerson-Hubbard, and the Pirates have to keep fighting through the tough times.
The team has to continue to remain patient and be willing to learn. There are certainly things to take away from every loss that can be used as a way to get better.
Emerson-Hubbard has to keep weathering the storm with the understanding that things will get better in time.
